I can't emphasize this enough: If you're struggling to find work in games, you're not the only one and please don't blame yourself. The horrible state of the industry is unprecedented. The crash in the 80s and the recession in the late 2000s weren't as rough as this. There are so few opportunities.

And I mean replacing one *clearly intentionally made* thumb being swapped with another.

An easy way to explain luddites:
Textile manufacturers brought in machines that could do in an hour what would have taken 12 hours by hand.
And then, tried to keep paying the now 12x more productive workers the same wages as before.

It's cool that some online marketplaces are stepping up after Steam decided to be awful (again), but imo GOG is going to have to do *a lot* more than that to make up for the g*merg*te rhetoric and transphobia. 🤷♂️

This. But also, remember that passion alone doesn't pay the bills. Most indies underprice their games, are ignored by algorithms, undersold, some even unfairly blocked from selling... So check that your money actually moves in the direction you want people surviving and making things.
