So it turns out... the US air travel system was incredibly, deeply dependent on federal funding to just run day-to-day all this time, to the benefit of private airline shareholders, when everyone thinks that state-run trains are leeching off the government. Weird!

this btw is the framing that's getting a lot of traction with my normie friends. The house GOP is trying to repeal Obamacare, dems are saying no and so the GOP shut the government down to try and get the dems to cave; trump is too busy caring about the ballroom.

I briefly thought I'd discovered the first ever case where translating 告白 (romantic) as "confession" without further qualification was grudgingly acceptable, but no, this is a *novel*, you have plenty of flexibility to adjust this gag in whatever way is necessary to make it actually work in english!
