funnily enough the "old" reddit version (how do they still let you use this!?) instead presents useful comments, even with the same "best" sorting selected. i love it when websites lie to me

showing the "old.reddit.com" version of the reddit post (instead of the "new" version in the previous post). the deleted comment is now the second one, and the top comment is a short (but effective) answer to the question, with another explanation under the deleted post

the reddit post. the top response is "deleted", and the next reply under that is "not to be rude but... couldn't this have been a google search?", ironically echoing how we got here

a lot of it is SteamVR in Linux at the time was very noticably behind the Windows version (older-style UI included), and it didn't handle multi-monitor at all, which made the overlay useless for me

It's one of those cases where to try it out right now I would likely have to do a completely new Linux install on my desktop and I don't want to bother, but from what I hear it hasn't gotten much better yet.

I don't think this sort of stuff plays well with Proton either

there's also this absolutely horrible, nails-on-chalkboard version if you do adjust the playback speed of the audio rather than the *music*, which makes the pitch shift

you know the phrase "music to my ears"? this is the opposite of whatever that is

more than anything a lot of it is that nobody who isn't MS has a reason to drop w10 support right now. they don't get anything from forcing it, other than losing their current users who aren't upgrading.

even without the extended support (i haven't bothered) the os will keep working as it is for probably years.

i said this a few weeks ago, but a reminder that windows 10 being "end of life" does not mean your operating system will immediately stop working. even if the OS itself doesn't get updates, the apps you use most often (the browser.) still are. more important to have adblock + firewall these days
