But this is Tim Kaine, a man whose greatest political achievement is that he's so milquetoast he could fade into the background behind Hillary Clinton. Like Mike Pence, VP picks who are there to be as normal and boring as possible alongside their prez. Interchangeable parts, complete with Lego hair.

I miss the days when Ben Mulroney was just Canadian Vampire Ryan Seacrest.

My son recently declared that it would be best if the Orks won because at least in the neverending nightmare of war they'd actually still be generally having a good time.

I can't really blame them for being strict. Both for controlling the direction of their creative project, and trying to avoid publishing pro-fascism materials that are a natural risk of the WH40K setting's roots as fascism satire.

Yes, but I still stand by the description of the 99 Binbrook on that map:

Why is Binbrook?

"Steps from Rapid Transit service to the Eastgate GO station" would be something you could sell to developers at Heritage Green and the Meadowlands and Limeridge Mall. Throw in an Upper James stop too so it's intersection of A-line and this highway-express-bus.

Okay, Fredo.

Since people are still on this, and saying that Marcotte is a chump for not realizing that they were always Nazis:

Marcotte ran John Kerry's blogsite during his presidential run... until she was hounded out by Republican ratfuckery for being too-angry-leftist.

She knows who they are.

Reminds me of the old days of Twitter "we can't automoderate the Nazis because any heuristic would also catch normal Republicans".

This. I have a 2020 Prius and it charges fully in about 5h on a regular outlet. It only goes about 40k before it has to turn on the engine, and running the AC defogger while driving up-hill will kick the engine in... but for driving around #HamOnt it's just the right range.

Maybe Toys R Us got upset about Jeffrey (epstein) the Giraffe?

Yeah. It works a bit better when the hero is a good-natured fuckwit so he can be pleasant while being oblivious to his part in the horror, but even that can only sustain things so long. Harry Harrison's "Bill the Galactic Hero" is an amazing novel along those lines... but the sequels aren't.

I mean I think they *should* widen the RHVP/Linc... for a bus-only-shoulder-lane. Set up an express bus from Meadowlands to Limeridge Mall to Heritage Green to Eastgate Square.

1) Toronto was going to use development charges to fund a project that was critical for existing residents
2) Now the feds are putting in money as a reward for Toronto reducing DCs, which they didn't actually do

Yesterday, the announcement was this: "Upgrading Toronto’s Black Creek sewer infrastructure to catalyse the construction of 63,000 new homes. Through [CHIF], the federal government will provide up to $283 million to expand capacity in Toronto’s Black Creek sewer system."

I am still upset that he worked with Zach Weinersmith for just long enough for me to buy a book they did together. In what sane world does that dead-eyed psychopath have my money?

> For domestic adoption, there is a similarly obvious fix: drastically curtail or abolish the welfare state. Even in the First World, it is very hard for a poor single mother to simultaneously work and support a baby. Without the welfare state, adoption is a natural response...

"What... and I can't stress this enough... the fuck."

Okay but seriously until BSky gets more federated it's good to also build a network on a fediverse site. BSky is a VC-funded Twitter spin-off project, while fediverse projects are run as grassroots.

Which, of course, makes them tedious. Ethical consumption under capitalism is haaaaaard 🥺.

Seems like the standard rebuttal was "oh they were just as racist they were just hiding it" and I still stubbornly insist that even if that is true (which we can't know what's in anybody's heart that way): Yes that is still a much better situation.

Bigots should be afraid to be known as bigots.
