Librarians, like teachers and nurses are the glue that holds our society together.
One thing with librarians is that they’re acutely aware of *who uses libraries* - many of us might go though our whole adult lives without setting foot in a library, but for people who are a little lost and need somewhere to be, they’re a lifeline.
Sometimes I think it’s going to be the librarians who will save us all.

My neighbor across the street and a house over decided to start flying a confederate flag yesterday. He’s surrounded by gay and POC neighbors in a town known for tolerance. Our house has this sign in the front yard, a California flag and rainbow lights around the roofline, we’re allies. Stay tuned.

Maxine left us the day before Halloween. Her loss has been hard. She’s now rolling in the grass, eating violets & meat tubes, & sleeping in the sun with her brothers & sisters who were waiting for her. We were holding her when she passed and I sang Maxine by Donald Fagen to her as always. 💔

I’m bringing a whole bunch of new wreaths and headbands to @shopatfavor next week! I’m also doing some themed ones this year, White Christmas, I Love Lucy, Golden Girls and Perry Mason. I dye trees because I rarely find colors I want, so I DO IT MYSELF!

Exactly, no more paychecks and CANCEL THEIR INSURANCE TODAY. Make them use only Medicare and have to go through ALL the hoops to get it. OH, and they have to wait two months after the House resumes “work” to get any benefits like us chumps who pay the bills for this nightmare.
Mike Johnson bemoans able-bodied men collecting healthcare benefits from the government while not working--exactly what Mike Johnson is currently doing.
Mike Johnson: "With Medicaid, we eliminated the fraud, waste, and abuse. We got able-bodied young men without dependents off the program. They were never intended to be there. They're sitting around on their couches playing video games. Yes, that's an actual study."

Up all night working and marveling about the quiet of the village we call home. The sun has risen and the view is like Eden, hummingbirds, tons of other birds, roses and bougainvillea. I am glad to be here even though I’m sad from losing our 17 year old beloved Maxine this week. 💔🌈
