Indianapolis, but not Indiana. Never a hoosier. Ever. I like to partake in sim-racing and pickleball and other worthwhile endeavors that I'm honestly not very good at doing.

Yes because of the Epstein files discharge petition, but also because Johnson and the rest of the GOP are going to try to overturn the elections of Democratic House members during the midterms, especially in more competitive seats.

Laying the groundwork for that.
i genuinely do not understand why he keeps digging the hole deeper on this one
KARL: I mean, you could swear in Adelita Grijalva tomorrow, right?

MIKE JOHNSON: No, not tomorrow. We couldn't. We wouldn't.

If anyone is confused: read about Google moving to use AI to organize all their other search features here. While it’s a better experience, the recursion problem is worrying and it will make it impossible to distinguish organic results.

Google integrated AI into the PAA feature recently as with most Google features. The quality of what gets plucked has plummeted. The important aspect of this is that the software Google uses can easily take a good source and twist it. Automation makes deception so much easier.

The latest AP-NORC poll had Trump at 37% approval, but, sure, lean into Trump-is-King. Good idea.

MAGA really doesn't know how to think about anything except to take the opposite position of their enemies, real or perceived.
Really think the biggest win today aside from just numbers is negatively polarizing the regime of 12-year-olds into fully adopting #YESKINGS as their official stance.

Trump just posted an AI slop video of himself dumping shit on protestors from a fighter jet while wearing a crown, just in case you were wondering how today’s events impacted his mental health situation.

They’re losing. They’ve already lost. He will get a lot more weird and aggro from here on out.

To call it 'the most corrupt administration in US history' does not do it justice; that so understates the degree of corruption as to be almost false.

They have in fact instituted a new regime in which officeholders treat the public's thing—the republic—as their personal property...like kings do.

Take note of all these people turning out for protests in small towns in red states.

Remember them the next time you’re inclined to write an area off because “they voted for this.”

Reminder that @axios.com is right-wing propaganda. TSMC announced a $10B investment in 2020 then, following CHIPS Act (2022) and a $6.6B grant from the Biden admin (2024), dramatically expanded it to $65B.

Trump had nothing to do with it.

Our tabby, Beatrice (1.5y), unknowingly posed for a photo this morning.

Here she is, next to a pillow my wife had made. The front panel of the pillow is from a t-shirt she wore as a child when at her father’s. He was a White Sox fan. The shirt commemorates the 1983 A.L. West division title.

Quoted in this story on turbulence at the Indiana Daily Student, where Indiana University officials made the shameful decision to censor the student newspaper, firing its advisor and shutting down the print edition. To no one’s surprise, I was critical: https://loom.ly/haV7puk

i know the desire to fight with these sick freaks is strong but resist the urge and just block. it’s better for your brain.

Amazing.

Emergency applications
Trump in 9 months: 29
Biden: 29
Trump: 41
Bush/Bush/Obama/Obama: 8

Anything Trump wants they go to the Supreme Court. And the Supreme Court almost always gives it to him. So they just keep going back.
Well to put it in perspective: The record is 41 held by Trump (1st term). In second place we have Trump (2nd term) tied with Biden (August 2024 was the last one filed by his administration). From 2001-2017 there were 8 emergency applications, Total.

vance to his kids: “it is okay to tell your friends you love hitler as long as you don’t get caught”
It's telling that Vance's first instinct following the Politico leak was to tell his sons to be wary of what they write in group chats--to assume “some scumbag is going to leak it in an effort to try to cause you harm.”

His message here is basically--be racist; just don't get caught.
