Well to put it in perspective: The record is 41 held by Trump (1st term). In second place we have Trump (2nd term) tied with Biden (August 2024 was the last one filed by his administration). From 2001-2017 there were 8 emergency applications, Total.

It's telling that Vance's first instinct following the Politico leak was to tell his sons to be wary of what they write in group chats--to assume “some scumbag is going to leak it in an effort to try to cause you harm.”
