Does it strike anyone as weird that we have a ratings board that counts the number of times a movie says fuck or shows a boob and decides who is allowed to see it, and yet GenAI was dropped on the entire with no restrictions, no age verification, no checks, no regulation whatsoever?

Saying you made an agreement that “places no restrictions” that very clearly places restrictions on trans ppl is…I guess consistent in a country where the ppl in power routinely lie, lie,+ lie some more.

Disgusting of Northwestern to enter this agreement and try to gaslight their community about it
"The agreement places no restrictions on our transgender community."

Except whether they can play sports, where they can use the bathroom or locker room, what kind of housing they can live in, and what healthcare they can receive.

MetLife denied my short term disability claim (not explicitly for long COVID but symptoms that could be from long COVID/I will never know for sure) so a big fuck you to them, and am relieved to hear this person got the disability benefit they need and should never have been denied
A Google software engineer won his battle against MetLife to receive disability benefits for Long Covid.

This is huge

Long Covid has a lot of stigma attached to it and it can be hard to get disability.

You’re told to “try harder”.

It’s “not that bad”.

You can “still work”.

Not everyone can

Waiting to see this announced on govt social media accounts.
“Black Friday,” Stephen miller yells, getting redder and redder, “will be replaced with White Friday.”

One cool thing about having POTS/dysautonomia is it makes ordering the salt bagel the health-conscious choice over other bagels that are not obscenely smothered in salt.
November 28, 2025 at 1:34 PM
Oh, is it rigid of me to protect myself?

Who’s going to pay my bills or get up to take care of my kid if I become bedridden and unable to work again?
You've got to have some gall to call Covid conscious folks rigid when you haven't masked in public in years, cling to 2019 & refuse to evolve your daily habits to fit the science 🧬

I do want people to pause and be joyful and enjoy family and friends and food.

But it is extremely weird to focus today on giving thanks without also acknowledging the genocidal history of this holiday.

People are struggling. I want us to think about how we're going to help each other hang in there this winter. How are you going to support your friends, co-strugglers, and community as they push through this moment? How can you help people muddle through, materially and/or emotionally?

Not giving a fuck about the constitution is different than not understanding it, and the distinction matters.

MAGA that want to steamroll over the constitution in favor of a dictatorship are doing it because they want to, not because they don’t understand
I've had a missile blow up next to my airplane, been shot at dozens of times by anti-aircraft fire, and launched into orbit — all for my country. I never thought I'd see a President call for my execution.

Trump doesn’t understand the Constitution, and we're all less safe for it.

This is good advice
if I can offer any unsolicited advice to multi parent households with small children, it would be this: adults should if at all possible get flu and covid jabs on different days from the other person

“In the dark” = abdicating their own responsibility to make plans and vote for or against them, instead of acquiescing to a wannabe dictator and his loyalists

I have long Covid. Don’t call my chronic disease a ‘journey’
A “journey” is something you choose. No one chooses chronic illness.

Abolish ICE
ICE deported a woman who owned a home in the US for 30 years. A judge banned ICE from deporting her to Sierra Leone where she had been tortured, so it deported her to Ghana, which kidnapped her and sent her back Sierra Leone anyway. ICE is part of this illegal conspiracy.

I know some of y’all really hate seeing masks and being forced to confront that getting sick more doesn’t actually make you healthier, but I cannot understand how seeing unmasked folks cough, sneeze, and sniffle all over public transit doesn’t make you want masks… on public transit.
November 25, 2025 at 8:40 PM
That’s really nice, but I’ve noticed the opposite is true in some circles burnt out from COVID, esp folks with kids where ppl have given up and assume everyone will be sick all the time from school/daycare

A complete “fuck it” approach without stopping to think some of us can’t afford to risk it
there’s an interesting thing we’ve done in our social circle as a result of Covid which is: now we let people know before social activities if anyone has any symptoms of anything potentially contagious, so everyone can make their own risk assessment

Hold up we can just call bullies and fascists out instead of becoming more fascist to get votes?
Welker: Do you think that Trump is a fascist?

Mamdani: That’s something that I’ve said in the past. I say it today.

Welker: You’ve called him a despot. Do you still believe Trump is a threat to the democracy?

Mamdani: Everything that I’ve said in the past, I continue to believe.

Trans people will always be welcomed, loved, and protected by me and my family.

We will keep working to do better to combat the violence and hate that harms our trans siblings.

We mourn trans people lost to violence today and commit to protecting and celebrating our trans siblings every day.
