Realtors’ record revenue quiets real estate bubble talk
My takeaway here is that Nvidia is the only big company making money on AI, and it was only $32 billion. Forgive me if that doesn’t quiet my AI bubble talk

“Nvidia Gives Strong Forecast, Countering Fears of AI Bubble”

I very much disagree with this framing. People buying lots of Nvidia GPUs tells us nothing about the eventual ROI on those GPUs.

In fact, a bubble effectively <requires> “too many” of these to be bought.

I’ve not yet but this makes me want to listen to her records.
"If you're a billionaire, why are you a billionaire?" Billie Eilish speaking directly to Mark Zuckerberg, as she donates $11.5m to food poverty and climate justice organisations.
'Give your money away,' Billie Eilish tells billionaires
The singer called on the mega wealthy to donate more to charity, during a speech at the WSJ Awards attended by the likes of Mark Zuckerberg and George Lucas.

Taking hip hop and mapping it onto a story about enslavers is certainly a choice. But my biggest problem with Hamilton is just that the music isn’t good. I do try not to yuck yums but it’s like objectively clunky as hell.
are we allowed to talk about how Hamilton is good again yet or is that still, like, off limits

The electorate isn’t even that polarized on climate. 70+% of Americans want the gov. to take stronger action. Climate denial in working and middle class is vanishingly small. This isn’t an R vs D thing, like most things, it’s ruling class bs the rest of us.
People think “we” are not making progress on climate change because its politics are polarized.

No, no, no.

The electorate is polarized, sure, but among the ruling class there is basically TOTAL UNITY around the idea that we can keep using fossil fuels and still deal w climate change anyway.

Listening to a podcast about global fertility rates and they said it really succinctly: even if we did drastically lower the global population it wouldn’t be in time to solve climate change. Having fewer kids just isn’t a climate solution. We have to, get this, stop burning fossil fuels.
Really getting frustrated that I still hear “don’t have kids” or “have fewer kids” as a climate solution. Here’s the thing, if we’re not off fossil fuels in the next few decades things are going to be catastrophic regardless. And we need more people who care about climate raising kids.

Every state with a Democratic legislature and Democratic governor could do this right now — they wouldn’t even need to do a ballot initiative. They could do it RIGHT NOW — so please pass it on and spread the word 👇
This is the best political news I’ve seen in a very long time — so please pass it on👇

Each state can limit Citizens United in their own state & they don’t have to wait for other states to do it.

Just watched the episode of #StarTrek #TNG where the guy wants to take Data apart and claims he’s an object and property of Starfleet. They end up in tribunal and Picard is defending Data, Riker is on prosecution. 2nd ep. in a row w Riker bs Picard, last one Riker’s on a Klingon ship.

Love that this wiki page also describes the Boston or New York Left which is the same except we just kinda go for it and don’t wait for ROW to be yielded. Very accurate. Kind of like the Rhode Island Slide where you’re going straight across a busy road and just go for it.

Idk who this is but I wonder if this is a holdover from when genres were way more siloed (for fans, not always musicians). My parents are boomer rock, jazz people. I once put on Folsom Prison and they made fun of it ‘cause it’s country.
