I take you outside and hopefully you touch a slug. I’m a science communicator and museum educator. I sing along with guitar solos. He/him.
And here they are finished. First project that wasn’t “practice,” looking forward to getting these on the table. #miniatures #HeroScape #Scapers

#WIP Two Kyrie from #HeroScape. These are the reason I started learning to paint a few months ago. Been very happy with my progress and I’m loving how these two are coming out so far. #miniatures

Did a weird color experiment on the kobold team. I didn’t want to paint the incredibly tiny details on here. I think it came out well and was also super fast! One copper base coat, gold dry brush, red wash, voila. Oh also these are polymorphed chromatic dragons so watch out. #miniatures #dnd

You’ve been kidnapped. The characters from the last TV show you watched are trying to rescue you. Who is coming to save you?

Literal best case scenario.

And now Eupatorium perfoliatum [common boneset//boneset]. Also known as agueweed, feverwort, or swearing plant, this has been used by indigenous Americans to induce sweating to break fevers. The common name comes from its use treating dengue, also known as “break-bone fever.”

Here we have Physocarpus opulifolius [common ninebark//eastern ninebark//Atlantic ninebark//ninebark]. The bark peels off in small strips resembling the number 9, hence its common names. It is a host to several moth larvae.

Here we have Hypericum perforatum [St John’s Wort//perforate St John’s Wort//common St John’s Wort]. There is evidence that this plant can help symptoms of depression. However, 2 caveats: 1. Commercial supplements are poorly regulated and you may not get what’s advertised. 1/

Here is Paraulacizes irrorata [speckled sharpshooter]. The clade Proconiini [sharpshooters] get their common name because they frequently shoot a stream of droplets. This liquid is the waste from a very high water diet.

Here we have a Epitheca princeps [Prince Baskettail] larva I netted back in June of 2020. This critter eventually metamorphoses into a dragonfly.
