I’m proud to introduce a resolution with @pressley.house.gov and @tokuda.house.gov that makes it clear: Immigrant Justice and Reproductive Justice are interconnected!

Rep. Delia Ramirez introduced a resolution criticizing ICE and is urging her party to take a firmer stance against the administration’s immigration enforcement agenda.

Also they get off on exercising their power in ludicrous ways because fuck you.
Texas clearly did a racial gerrymander, which is illegal.

A district court found that Texas did a racial gerrymander, rejecting the new map because it is illegal.

But the Supreme Court reversed it.

Because? Must assume the gerrymanderers were acting in good faith (despite the evidence otherwise).

They’ve got a project, allowing republicans to do whatever the fuck they want, and they’re sticking to it.
#BREAKING: Over dissents from the three democratic appointees, #SCOTUS puts Texas's new House maps back into effect for (and, presumably, through) the 2026 midterms.

The three Democratic appointees, in an opinion by Justice Kagan, dissent.

I'll post the ruling shortly.

Bring the hammer down. As a candidate, and hopefully as a member of Congress, I strongly endorse hammering the living shit out of Republicans until they agree that democracy is important and the shit that's broken is fixed.
People only change their minds when the pain of not changing surpasses the pain of changing. Republicans have to be made to feel extraordinary political pain if they are to say enough, please stop, we’re ready to talk independent redistricting.

Now Is The Time To Maximize Republicans' Political Pain
It shouldn't matter that the Texas gerrymander might be dead. Democrats have to stay on offense.

I wonder if this person thinks that the Palestinians should accept a negotiated settlement that would have them give up , permanently the West Bank
I think there should have been a negotiated peace as opposed to Bidens policy of opposing putin to the last Ukrainian. I dont think that policy has much to do with supporting the people of Ukraine.

NEW: Democrats will force a Senate vote on a 3-year extension of Affordable Care Act funds

Per Schumer, every Dem will vote YES.

It needs 60. Won't happen. Most Republicans want these Covid-era funds gone.

It'll becomes a 2026 issue when premiums soar.

The legislation is all but guaranteed to fail next week, due to widespread Republican opposition, and become a key issue in the 2026 elections as insurance premiums rise.

This, in the middle of a thread where they are arguing that the US should not be helping Ukraine fight Russia.

Ukraine should just wait until the Russians overthrow Putin?

How about "no".

Indeed.

Children rejecting or just flatly not understanding their parents’ politics or job = cute and funny. (An undertaker’s three year old once told me, cheerily “daddy comes to see people when they die” and “daddy will see you when you die”)
I always find the other way around very funny my mother fully didnt let us sing campaign jingles from right wing parties which made us sing it even harder when she couldnt hear it

As an activist network, there’s going to be as many goals/visions for the future as there are working groups or people who join (and maybe even more goals than that). My goals in DSA are different than many others. I think the network fruitful (even if the online facet is mostly turrible), but ymmv.
*rubs temple* DSA is not a political party. DSA is an activist network. The reason why DSA fails the “party discipline” standard is because it isn’t one. There are also people w/in DSA, for example, who think the Democratic Party is the only reasonable vehicle for power.
