really cannot be emphasized enough that bari weiss has literally never done journalism. i don’t mean that in the pejorative sense. i mean that in the “has never performed the job she was hired to do” sense
One explanation for Bari killing the story is that she did so as a public act of fealty to the administration. But another is that, as an inexperienced journalist, she doesn’t understand that a refusal to go on the record is a kind of comment in and of itself

Considering how the environmental impact is one of the major arguments against generative AI, I think it's fair to be critical of its usage even if the final product doesn't contain any AI creations.

i think if you use genai for anything, even writing an email, you're both a moron and a huge baby, and i dont want to play your video game as a result. its not that hard!
As the backlash to generative AI in video games continues to pick up steam heading into 2026, it'll be fascinating to see what is considered "made with generative AI." Can a dev team say they're not using AI if they're writing design docs with Copilot or using chatGPT to make schedules and budgets?

This is the same with closed captions. It was already bad when it was just speech-to-text and often got things wrong. But now we've seen evidence that companies are using AI platforms to also do this task, and it's even worse than the bad job it was doing before.
Spell check existed long before genAI and in its most basic function is not genAI. Spell check is code. It's a function. It checks against a database of available words. Spell check in certain programs, however, may have been made worse by running it through genAI.

Any individual member of the House can force a vote on impeachments and anything impeachment-related.
Breaking:

Rep. Ro Khanna says the Trump DOJ's production "does not comply with" the Epstein Files Transparency Act.

Khanna says he and Rep. Thomas Massie "are exploring all options" — including impeachment of DOJ officials, inherent contempt, or referring individuals for obstruction of justice.

Yes, but it’s not a “nuclear option.” It’s the most basic, obvious, conventional option available if you want to actually do something effective. The fact that they’re not immediately promising it en masse tells us something, and that something is not good.

One major problem, bluntly, is that lots of folks can't distinguish between good writing and poor writing. This is about education, not intelligence: they could learn the difference, but it's frequently not taught, even in "good" schools. This is ultimately a competitive disadvantage for them.
it's so wild that people conflate quickness with quality so they think chatGPT writing a wall of text in 10 seconds means it's good writing.
