Unfortunately, EAA doesn't take into consideration a lot of our e-resources, although many vendors with an international customer base are fixing more than required in EAA with the combined regs of EAA and Title II in place (or soon to be).

If you think that professors exist as repositories of knowledge that students ask for answers, you’re missing the entire point of a college education.

We’re here to teach students how to do research, how to analyze and argue, how to think for themselves — how to find the answers on their own.
Wow. Just wow.

"Students pay premium prices for information that AI now delivers instantly and for free. A business student can ask ChatGPT to explain supply chain optimization or generate market analysis in seconds. The traditional lecture-and-test model faces its Blockbuster moment."

Can't help but notice the Forbes article seems to think a good literature, etc., essay would cover the same things Cliff Notes or any number of other "study aid" sites have been doing for years. This is the same as thinking the internet supersedes having libraries!

"Prompt engineering for database searching" is uh... not a thing.

It literally says students prefer databases but then goes on to recommend libraries help with prompt engineering like..wut. Let ‘em use the database 😭 the concerns are valid

"New Far Side comics" was definitely not on my bingo card for this week. They're not bad!

I can DM you my vendor info page, if you're interested.
We're also building subscription termination into licenses for non-compliance and (especially) failure to remediate when requested.
It depends on the publisher. Some are refusing to even try (and we unsubscribe from those wherever possible), but others are meeting with us to try to understand what we want and need. I've been dealing with vendors on this for a few years (Uni policy), but Title II really ramped up our efforts.
We've asked for a way to turn off third-party e-resources that have not been checked for accessibility and they said they were looking into it. EBSCO has met with us a few times and *seems* to comprehend that content accessibility is just as important as platform accessibility.

She has been a major public face in ALA's fight against book banning. Getting rid of the Director of the Office of Intellectual Freedom during this historic moment really does not send a good message and I really do wonder how that decision was made.
ALA President Sam Helmick posted an update to members on ALA Connect about an hour ago.

For those curious about the status of OIF, given that Deborah Caldwell-Stone is the one name that has become public with this round of RIF, this is where things stand:

I like to remind people about lifetime limits and the refusal of insurers to sell coverage to people with preexisting conditions.

The ACA has issues. But those 2 things alone make it worth saving and fixing.

Evan Dahm's work is always fascinating and beautiful, and this post-apocalyptic series promises to be as good or greater than Vattu, and that one is... *chef's kiss*

The weekend meaty breakfast chorus is in fine fettle this morning; either because of, or in spite of, a late start.

Real talk, my Patreon accounts for 1/4 of my income and I’m dependent on it. Even $3/month helps and you get to see a LOT of stuff, and a back catalog of things.
If you want to make my day you could subscribe to my Patreon! I post a lot of WIPs and behind-the-scenes stuff there that I don't share here. $3/month and above gets you access to the extras but even a tip jar level $1 helps!

"Kanye's Cocoa Bear" is... interesting. It sounds like he has a special cereal just for him. (Do you design cereal characters? I want some Choochoo Charms.)
