I want to start a company that does remodels for accessibility. Like the whole house, countertops, the computer, home automation, all that. That’s basically what I do anyway now, and surprised I don’t see more people doing it.

Ma’am may I introduce you to Annie, who as of 10:51 was still asleep like this.
We could all take a page from Annie’s book tbh.

“Landlords may say ‘smart home’ devices are a tenant convenience. But the reality is, these AI-enabled systems can track patterns of tenant behavior, identify when people are home, and provide landlords with personal information that could be used to push out tenants perceived as too costly.”

Which is, of course, exactly why they're doing it. They don't want anyone to be able to understand/build/trace a historical record to their culpability.

And they also just simply *want* the earth destroyed, because this is all rooted in their Armageddonist Xtianity.

One of my best pieces of advice is counter intuitive but if you're scrolling tiredly on your phone at the end of the day, maybe don't?

It's not really the break your mind needs at that point. Lately i've been making myself actually go to bed when I'm too tired to read. It's been helping.

Look at her: A kid from Nebraska who wants to know how the world around her works, but wants to stay close to her family and community while doing so.

She could do it when UNL thought Nebraskans deserved to. She DID do it!

The next generation, though? They can't anymore.

12 FTE positions in the subject will be eliminated, and the students and communities of Nebraska will be worse off for losing these amazing experts.

If your institution is looking to hire faculty at any career stage, you could benefit from the terrible decision that UNL administration has made.

This is incredibly devastating and an act of political hatred and capitulation.
To cut Earth & atmospheric sciences especially at this time when environmental well being is so tenuous is horrifying.
“The Daily Nebraskan found in the leaked spreadsheet that every program eliminated appeared to be profitable…every program that the chancellor proposed eliminating generated more money from tuition dollars than the department costs to run”

This week, a federal judge wrote that federal agents – largely from ICE, but also CBP and other agencies operating in D.C. – had adopted an “arrest first, ask questions later” approach, ignoring legal requirements around when and how immigrants can be detained.

@maustermuhle.bsky.social reports:
Federal judge limits warrantless immigration arrests in D.C.
Lawyers say federal agents unlawfully operated under an ‘arrest first, ask questions later’ policy.
