I want city council to ban tear gas/ pepper spray/chemical weapons in Saint Paul. Surely, we have the votes for it. It's only ever abused. I'd argue there's no justifiable use for it, ever, but even if there were, it's always abused.

It is fun to imagine that if I lived in, say, the 1890’s (within the necessary range of middle-to-upper social class) I would probably have done SO much cocaine. Whether it would be a “spiral into a deep dark addiction and be dead by forty from terrible physiological side effects” kind of thing 1/2
I am genuinely convinced that one of the reasons it used to be thought that most people grew out of ADHD as adults was how common smoking was.
