An ancient and magical amber bear. Carved some 10,000 years ago, it washed up on a beach at Fanø in Denmark from a submerged Mesolithic settlement under the North Sea.

✨Merry Christmas everyone✨

Here is a true story.

During Trump’s first term, The Post got a tip that his doctor — the guy with the long hair who signed that first “healthiest guy ever” letter — wanted to spill the beans. He lived in Westchester, up near where I lived at the time. So I was tasked with talking to him. 1/

Reposting a comment-mini-thread under main thread b/c i especially like it; the main thread is also interesting, on the unpredictability of what lasts
Look, I'm an Ellison fan, or I was at an impressionable time of my life, but not only was Agatha Christie a better writer, she was even better at Ellison's two greatest skills: arrogance and being a petty bitch.

One way that the reaction to Rob Reiner's murder mirrors Charlie Kirk's is that the best way to eulogize each of them is to quote their words, and in both cases, doing so pisses off conservatives.
Rob Reiner: “Silence in the face of authoritarianism is complicity. Speaking out is a patriotic act. Democracy doesn’t defend itself. It requires participation, vigilance, and courage from ordinary people."

In an ominous ruined harbor, Saint Augustine of Hippo encounters a tiny child trying to empty the sea. Wonderfully chilling scene from 1623 by François de Nomé, whose day is today.

Taking a break from the sickening tragedy to focus on the beauty for a moment. Rob Reiner achieved something so rare and coveted that artists and entertainers dream of and rarely achieve: cultural permanence. How many times have you made a reference to something going to 11? Shouted "Inconceivable"?
