For all of the people who have urged the American news media to stand together in the face of the Trump admin's attacks – it's happening right now. All the major networks are speaking out against the Pentagon's new press restrictions:

If anyone needs me I will be in the museum, lying down next to the bog bodies.
Did people really memorize phone numbers before cell phones, or is that just a movie thing?
2? Questions
I was watching some old shows from the 90s and noticed people would just dial numbers from memory - like they'd call their friends or family without looking anything up.
Made me wonder if that was actually normal back then? Did people genuinely have all their important numbers memorized, or did most folks keep a little address book or written list nearby?

Help out a Chicago organizer and buy this book and learn some useful things appropriate for our troubled times 🙏🏻

My publisher’s been very patient. I’m not doing everything I said I’d do to promote this book (out in a few weeks) because I’m an organizer in a city under federal attack. My days are full and emotionally exhausting. Any help getting the word out means a lot. It's a book people need right now.

We are in the second week of the Republican shutdown.

Where are House Republicans? On vacation.

Went looking around the Capitol to see if any Republicans had the common sense to come back. Featuring @mcbride.house.gov.

Polls have been clear: more Americans blame Trump and the Republicans for the shutdown then Democrats. Every poll that I’m aware of has shown this. Republicans now say the latest polls show the blame divide narrowing in their favor.
The Shutdown, Zombie Politics and How Trump Stumbled Into Not Being All-Powerful
It’s always a complicated matter to say who is “winning” a shutdown...

This act of violence by Trump’s masked DHS agents against a minister peacefully protesting reminds me of the darkest days of the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s.

Now as then, we will not be intimidated.

More propaganda with painfully normal people zip-tied at the side of the road please, this will for sure convince the American people that you're the good guys

Going back to that raid on the South Shore apartment building. It hasn't gotten much focus that the goons reportedly traveled the same way Patriot Front does: in UHauls.

A Budget truck with about five armed men seen inside. It's dark out and the taillights are lit. The photo is attributed to KT O'Loughin.

The cover of a zine called Moviejawn with a creepy looking bug guy on a red and black background. The zine is being held by someone with a very lovely ceramic tile floor.

The thing that makes me the sickest is that these folks don’t even have a shred of compassion. It’s one thing to enforce laws and rules. It’s another to do it gleefully and celebrate the suffering of someone born into poverty and desperation

ICE admits that up to 50% of arrests in its Chicago raids are "collateral.” These aren't statistics. They are parents taken from their children, neighbors taken from our communities. When does a "collateral" U.S. citizen child's trauma matter? This isn't law enforcement; it's a campaign of terror.

In politics, the party that generates the narrative wins. The party that chases behind with corrections loses.

Dems need to be united and they need to control the narrative with boldness, truth, & standing up to the bullies. Never let them off the hook.

In other words, the alpha messaging wins.
