Someone has lost all touch with the GenPop. Fuck that noise.

"What if the worst hotel gym, but dirtier" is what I would pick for ways to make airports more shitty.

To improve flying, just take the step where the airline agent gets to spit into your open mouth when booking.
Duffy on what he's doing to improve the airport experience for travelers: "Maybe I want a workout area where people might get some blood flowing doing some pull ups or step ups in the airport."

The reason we don’t sell H200, and other advanced chips to China is that they have dual-use (military and civilian) capability.

These will help China improve their AI, surveillance, and cyber espionage capability.

The export controls existed strictly for NatSec purposes.

Only exception to the rule.
Unless you're the state of Minnesota
If you even own a confederate flag you are without doubt a gigantic piece of shit. Like you are objectively just a bad person and you should be shunned from society

Boy, in the last few days there's been another real hard shift on the platforms.

YouTube recs are shit I've never shown interest in, I have to dig to find the channels I've subbed to. My subreddits focused on craftsmanship are full of more AI slop posts than usual and all the comments are bots.

Nov. 29, 1925: Marine Sgt. Emil Blade is not only a crack marksman with the medals to prove it but a craftsman of violins. At the wood shop of the Marine Corps Armory in Philadelphia, where he works, he fashions both rifle stocks and instruments.

My "dad pro tip" is keeping a bag of cheap spring clamps and tie-ties on hand as an impromptu "blanket fort" kit.

If you want to step it up, a bucket of PVC pipes cut to 24" lengths and random corner and T-connectors for rooms without enough furniture to rearrange. Instant forts.

At what point does a CinC, be it POTUS or Governor, really grasp that they hold the lives of the servicemembers in their hands. Your word alone will send hundreds of thousands of civilians and Soldiers alike to their death in Iraq and Afghanistan, or one Soldier to her death in DC.

in the military we agonize and theorize over ethics, LOAC, Civ-Mil relations, strategy, theories of victory, etc etc etc. These concepts may be (likely are!) completely foreign to a newly elected head of state, much to our regret. There's no training that prepares a pol for these responsibilities

I swore an oath to the Constitution in 1986. I've upheld it through 25 years of service and every day since I retired.

If Trump's trying to intimidate me, it won’t work. I’ve given too much to our country to be silenced by bullies who care more about power than the Constitution.

You have to keep giving money to avoid collapse and if there’s collapse you have to give more money. It’s called the free market.

I know young Marines who hit the Fleet at the very end of OEF and talk about feeling like they missed the wars, and I tell them there were Marines just like them who joined in 1945 and ended up painting rocks at the new Camp Pendleton, not knowing a few years later they'd be at Chosin Reservoir.

Kyle Kingsbury is not a journalist. He is not an op-ed writer.

He is a computer safety researcher.

And he has written one of the most compelling, comprehensive accounts of the ongoing hell in Chicago that you could possibly imagine.

In under 1600 words.

LOAC is about two things: creating space for a lasting peace when the fight’s over, and more importantly, ensuring that when your own troops come home they don’t spend the rest of their lives looking in the mirror and seeing a monster look back at them.
The laws of war are not mere niceties. They are lessons from centuries of blood agreed upon to keep the world more stable.

Violating them isn’t hero cop who cuts through red tape to get things done, it’s psycho cop who crosses lines in ways even the rule benders find appalling and must be stopped.

We have money beyond comprehension.

The world uses our currency as the backup plan when everything else goes to shit.

We have done ungodly production theoughput.

We have innovated our way to the fucking moon.

And now we are relying on another country to feed our military.
NEW: The US Army website for its bases in Bavaria, Germany told its soldiers and employees that it might need to obtain free food from the German government during the US government shutdown.

The Army later altered publication to remove a list of food banks, but we have the original text here:
US Army Tells Soldiers to Go to German Food Bank, Then Deletes It
The initial 'Shutdown Guidance' for the US Army Garrison Bavaria included instructions to go to German food banks.

Remind me how Iraq 2003 turned out? Wasn’t like a triangle of death or anything right? Certainly not a bunch of score settling and ethnic cleansing that impacted US policy priorities, global standing, force design, and killed a bunch of people, right?

I'm a firm believer of "there were never any good old days," just your nostalgia.

Also, my dad was not about the weird nerd shit I was in to- he liked cowboys and WWII planes. But when I got into Pokemon, dragonlance, magic the gathering, star wars, video games... He did, too.
Another one:

"They don't make music like we had in our day!"

Guess what, Sport... your parents hated your shit, too. Said it was garbage. EVERY generation does this.

Just let them have their fun. 🙄 Maybe try listening to it? You may like it.
