I’m convinced that a “happy coincidence” of housing and the stock market being the primary means of accumulating enough wealth to be able to retire without ending up on the street is making people afraid of anything that might hinder our monied masters’ insatiable greed.

The coordinated nature of this—none are facing voters in 2026—means that either Schumer approved it or failed in his job as Senate Majority Leader to stop it.
Dems voting "no" get zero credit until they demand a change in leadership. Schumer out as Leader, Durbin out as Whip.

No opinion about this specific claim, but I do think we need more humanities in our lives and hearts and minds. And more arts. More history, more literature, more painting, more moral philosophy, more poetry. More thinking about and cherishing what makes human life special.
I don’t know about you but I sincerely believe that Zohran Mamdani’s BA Major in Africana Studies enabled him to understand our current conjuncture & its demands of justice. Humanities shape minds & in his case for the better.

it gets tiring to keep explaining what it means to be poor to people.
it is not that poor people don’t know that cooking is cheaper:
cooking costs time. it costs pots and pans. it costs a working stove and your utilities on. it costs you’ve been on your feet all day and your babies are tired.

Don't forget that Zohran Mamdani spent his entire campaign standing proudly beside the trans community. He went to trans rights rallies just to show support. He proudly waved trans rights flags without hesitation. He refused to back down in support of trans rights. That makes me happy.

What’s infuriating to me as someone who has identified as a Democrat literally longer than Spanberger has been alive is that many of the policies Mamdani supports would have comfortably fit within the Democratic Party tent before Reaganism.
Neoliberalism should NOT be the default for Democrats.

Abigail Spanberger takes a swipe at Mamdani, saying "maybe he should be a Democrat" and that his campaign promises are dishonest.

Says the Pentagon will treat these alleged drug smugglers “EXACTLY how we treated Al-Qaeda.”
I can think of a few relevant differences between the two, eg 9/11, etc.

A reminder to cancel Paramount subscriptions.
The network that was literally sustained on the backs of women & people of color is now firing exactly those people.
CBS/Paramount might not have survived w/o Lucille Ball & Desi Arnaz's Desilu Productions, & the weight they then lent to making a bunch of other shows happen.
I mean what the hell.

There are very few mainstream journalists I respect and Anderson Cooper is not one of them.
In the 1st question of his brief interview with Mamdani. Anderson Cooper reports Trump’s strongman threats to punish NYC if the Mayoral candidate is elected, as if he gets to select where funding goes according to his whims, & then asks whether voters will find it “worth the hassle” to vote for him.
