If you're American, I've reposted discussions of The Guardian's severe anti-trans bias that inflamed a moral panic, endangerimg the rights and lives of trans people in the UK.

Important to note: @us.theguardian.com is actually fine, even good, on trans issues.
With the world in flux, our commitment to clear, agenda-free reporting has never been stronger.

I really wish I could convey to people who've never had to deal with it how skin-crawlingly invasive being described like this is.
Via Shon Faye on ig:

Notice how they’re being “complimentary” but also completely and utterly dehumanising at the same time?

oh no, I'm listening now to the 730 interview and they... brought in the father and son for questioning in 2019 and asked them about their beliefs and of course they said reassuring things about each other, and therefore they were let loose because "no evidence of radicalisation".

It is inconceivable that you could go online after something like the Bondi terrorist attack and avoid seeing graphic, horrific content.

I wrote about how we've all settled into a deal with tech platforms that being traumatised is the price of entry:

“I don’t really care,” winning out, followed closely by, “I like them, actually,” is not the resounding Victory For Hate the Guardian and others have been so relentlessly campaigning for.

You can see why they’re so desperate to do it through the courts. The general public is not helping them.

Mossad has no legitimate claim to investigate on behalf of all Jewish people. Mossad is the foreign intelligence service of a state, the State of Israel. Just the fact that the Israeli executive, of which Mossad is part, already has a narrative about this, disqualifies Mossad even in principle.

I’ve heard from immigration attorneys that clients say ICE guards lay out the WRAP device (essentially a full-body straitjacket) on the tarmac as a threat — “do what we say or you’re getting the WRAP on the whole flight.”

And here’s proof, from Seattle livestream today via @lalabote.bsky.social.

Are we really going there?

the difference between the level of competence and professionalism shown in the US and AU mass shooting investigations is night and day.
We staffed the entire FBI with guys who only make memes and podcasts, hope that doesn't affect our ability to respond to major crimes

I think what he's proposing (regular re-licensing and limits to the number of guns you can register) are a reasonably specific and likely quite useful thing. Going to need to be resourced properly though, each state's registry is administered differently and usually poorly.

Here’s an article from this year with the Australian gun lobby boasting that, with surging gun numbers, it was winning the fight against firearms control advocates. Blame guns. Blame anti-Semitism. Blame terrorists. Do not blame everyday Australians who marched for peace.
Australia’s gun lobby says it’s ‘winning’ the fight against firearm control as numbers surge
There are now more than 4m guns in the community – almost double the number recorded in the years after the Port Arthur massacre that prompted a national crackdown
