Unpopular opinion(?): we simply have no idea what is or is not a popular opinion anymore.

Even well before LLMs, machine learning-driven and algorithmic content filters, corporate-owned media, and removal of third-spaces in our communities brutally siloed us and we can no longer find the pulse.

Cancelled this morning, making plans to move @uwu.engineer stuff over to (probably) Matrix.

On bsky I tend to hang with fellow creative nerds - vtubers, writers, smut peddlers (complementary), and musicians.

On Mastodon it's like 99% my fellow nerdy dev and engineering peeps :)

Not at all surprised to learn that Bad Bunny has a historical adviser. His halftime show was a reminder that our history and culture are deeply intertwined with the rest of the western hemisphere. We should think of his performance as part of #America250. #SuperBowl

Pop star Bad Bunny needed a Puerto Rican history scholar. UW–Madison had just the one.
Bad Bunny collaborated with UW–Madison history professor Jorell Meléndez-Badillo on Puerto Rican narratives that accompany the new album “DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS.”

Casual reminder that if you know a cute sapphic who would like to wife up a Canadian, you should connect us. 😏 Bonus points if they want to do Shabbat and other Jewish stuff with me.

Alberta's "distinct legal traditions" eh? Oh I'd love to hear her explain in more depth because I don't think there's a way without sounding racist, sexist, homophobic, or otherwise eugenicist. 🍿

I love all genders🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈
Because I have no gender.
Especially right now, transgender people are living with a lot of anxiety.

Why are transgender people not allowed to freely love the people they want to love?
Why can't transgender individuals live their lives with the soul they prefer?

Just gonna put it out there to any of my therapy group peers who may be googling me right now since today was my final day, I'm down to break the "rules" and make friends BUT only after you're also done in group. 👍🏻

Find me and drop me a message then :)

When you're both a gamer and technology professional and you've got your desktop doubling as a K8S node on a network with limited GPU compute, you do what you must.

I don't believe Bluesky is a permanent answer, but being able to pivot to a different platform as needs must is important. Twitter/X is a fascist hellhole and is *not* a neutral town square / public forum.
Thanks @wgreaves.bsky.social
Part of defending Canada‘s democracy and sovereignty = stopping sources of disinformation + division. Would appreciate if you could please encourage @mark-carney.bsky.social to ban X and get all government accounts onto BlueSky instead!
@mark-carney.bsky.social
Long past time to ditch X.
It’s like if we’d allowed widespread publication of Das Reich in WW2 or helped amplify Radio Moscow during the Cold War. (AND if our governments were at the same using those same channels to share info). It’s bananas.

While I am quite good at very many things, it will never stop bothering me that doing all jobs at once is pretty much par for the course to succeed as an individual in the modern "digital economy".

First takeaway from this article: media landscape in Canada is even more f'd than I thought.

Best takeaway from this article: this Ahmed Al-Rawi guy and the Disinformation Project sound awesome and I need to dig deeper into his work.

2026 web design PSA: test your auth flows with password managers. If your field validation doesn't work when my chosen password manager autopopulates a field without me focusing the field and physically typing on my keyboard, it's stupid and annoying.

Excerpts from one of my all-time favourite textbooks, Rationality and Power by Bent Flyvbjerg. It is a fascinating tale of decision-making in the city council of Aalborg, Denmark. press.uchicago.edu/ucp/books/bo...

Anyway, here are some poignant and relevant (and blurry) pics from my 2007 reading.
