A lot of comments under this are saying things like "It's not OUR jobs to stop this, it's the job of Congress to stop it!" and like...NO. It IS our jobs as citizens to stop this; Congress is not some customer support line for us to lodge complaints with. We must be active in our civic virtue. TLDR:

This is so obsequious and nauseating. Elizabeth ask better questions at this moment in our history.
The New York Times highlights a reader question asking Exec Editor Joe Kahn, “How do you find time to care for yourself?” Really? Out of all the questions you got from readers, you choose one asking Kahn how he copes with his hard job? Suck it up, Times. 🧵 4/4

News media has to do better with headlines that present false and unverified public health claims.

I feel comfortable and secure in my belief that democratic leadership should not be pulling their slogans from venture capitalists. That this, at minimum, is a significant indictment of who they are listening and talking to. It’s not that complicated.

How did this guy and a drug kingpin buy their pardons from Trump? This is our-in-the-open corruption, and Republicans are accepting it.
President Trump has set free a private equity executive who had served less than two weeks of a seven-year sentence for his role in what prosecutors described as a $1.6 billion scheme that defrauded thousands of victims.

Wonderful news for the next New Deal Democrat—the current pop of super rich people are comic book villains.
The New Deal wasn’t built on a promise that there would be “no ceiling” for the richest Americans.

Quite the opposite, in fact. FDR knew its politics could only work if he singled out the rich as villains and knew that its policies could only work if the rich paid their fair share in taxes.

To put a finer point on this whole thing: "Two people with direct knowledge of the operation" — presumably uniformed military leaders — are accusing the U.S. Secretary of Defense of personally ordering specific war crimes. That's a historic accusation.
