Puck News: Up to 20 Republicans in the House are expected to announce retirements in the coming weeks. To at least some extent this reflects a crisis of confidence in Speaker Mike Johnson. puck.news/johnsons-car...
Johnson’s Career Crisis & The House G.O.P. Exodus
Up to 20 more House Republicans may announce retirements soon as legislative gridlock, Trump’s falling approval, and 2026 midterm fears drive exodus.

lol i'm gonna get whacked for this but i feel like a lot of white people on the left are waiting for a messiah to save them.

I may never forgive Gen Z for that "+10%" approval, no matter how much that margin improves.

Hilarious - refusing to do the bare minimum of voting for Dems to stop the GOP calling *other* people Blue MAGA 😂

The thing about being an US born person of immigrant extraction who has also lived in a couple of other countries and traveled to a bunch more is... I can be both very clear eyed in the way the US sucks while also being aware of how other countries use the USA's failings to distract from their own.

Christ, just join the GOP already - you're already helping them out with this mindset.

Thanks for clarifying how deeply you hate Dems, and how Black/Brown/LGBT can never trust you to be an ally.

[Ofc it's a white guy!]
Fuck vote blue no matter who. If all this madness isn't enough to get the Democrats to field a candidate who can support trans rights and be against genocide they're telling me they don't want my vote and I'm happy to oblige.

I'm not voting for a more polite Trump. Full stop.

This racist "joke" was designed exclusively to be enjoyed by white people.
I don't find this funny

As long as Americans see their vote as a REWARD and not a CHOICE OF AN AGENDA, things will continue to not improve in this country.

Withholding your vote never punishes a Candidate.

It punishes you.

All y'all who wanted to "punish" Kamala over Gaza, how's that working out for you now?

How would you be able to tell whether the Dem leadership helped or not? Sounds like you will never give them credit regardless.

It's voters that disappoint me more than any snapshot of Dem leadership I've seen over the years.
It’s good to see the democratic electorate start to get out there and vote. Just wish the whole dem leadership would do something to help.

LONG RAMBLING EMOTIONAL THREAD:

It's World AIDS Day. Since the Administration has decided to keep it quiet, I'd like to share my introduction to AIDS.

I grew up in Seattle. My mom remarried a man who had a brother who was a King County Sheriff's Deputy. His name was Terry and he was gay. 1/x

a significant reason Mamdani can get away with this and other Dems can’t is less that he’s charmed Trump and more that he’s charmed you, dear reader, which is why you’re not yelling at him for being a collaborator or an appeaser right now

It's extremely bad for left politics that we are apparently incapable of doing the internal hygiene required to keep these vicious bullies from claiming the mantle of "leftism"

I’m suddenly thinking about all the people who’ve been demanding that elected Democrats put their lives on the line to fight Trump when those same people couldn’t be bothered to fill in a fucking bubble on a piece of paper a year ago to prevent all of this.
Earlier this morning, President Trump threatened me and a group of service and veteran Members of Congress with arrest, trial, and death by hanging.

Here’s my response:

For whatever reason, some people in the comments/quotes NEED Bill to be guilty to validate their ostensibly 'non-partisan' credentials, so they've continued to wishcast his connection with Epstein in absence of evidence.

I love Maine and its people. That's why as governor, I expanded health care to more than 100,000 people, guaranteed free school meals for children, protected abortion access, provided free community college, and more.

I'm proud to bring that same fight to the Senate.

Yeah, I call BS.

I recall very clearly that Bernie, who falls squarely in the 'progressive' camp, support the likes of Tulsi Gabbard, John Fetterman, and most recently Graham Platner.
Puzzling that the centrist pundits who are arguing for a "big tent" Democratic Party are the same people who spend all their time on social media attacking the left. The Venn diagram of these two groups is practically a circle.
Meanwhile, if you take Dems and subtract the left, you get 2000 and 2024
