I love how the “poorly educated” get shit on constantly for creating Trump but it’s literally a bunch of college educated greedy dipshits that have dog-walked us into fascism.

Northwestern and Columbia being famous for journalism and bending over for Trump seems a little too on the nose these days
This is the second largest payout from a private university to the Trump admin yet, second only to Columbia’s $200m

What might break up Trump's coalition, and what Mamdani might have clocked, is proving to Americans that an anti-fascist government can make their lives more affordable. lnk.thebulwark.com/4iALUlB
What Mamdani Gets About Trump
When New York’s mayor-elect met with the authoritarian president, he didn’t waste time with denunciations. But he didn’t exactly hold back.

In Monrovia, California, protesters are purchasing 17¢ ICE scrapers from Home Depot and immediately returning them to create long lines and slow down the entire store. Their aim is to disrupt sales and convey a message opposing ICE raids occurring in their neighborhood.

Zohran's basic linguistic competence and commitment to a non-neoliberal economic platform makes Democratic Party leadership look so incredibly bad. And they hate him for it.

This is exactly what I said too!
I love how people are shocked trump is treating Zohran Mamdani like a human being. Trump respects someone who commands ratings and Zohran got the vote ergo his ratings were good.

Compare this to Andrew Cuomo who is a loser piece of shit and also has bad ratings. That helps explain what’s happening

Remember a few weeks ago when Trump brought in a couple bulldozers and demolished about a third of the White House? That was weird.

Medicare for All would save $450B a year.

Every dollar spent on food stamps generates $1.50-$1.80 in economic activity.

Each dollar going to low-wage workers adds $1.20 to the economy overall.

It’s not about what this country can or can’t afford.

It’s about priorities.

Hey Megyn Kelly,

14-year-old Eloise would like a word:

“If my voice makes you uncomfortable, good…
because the minute adults start defending predators by defending the age of a child, you’re not protecting the truth, you’re protecting the predator.”

Sound up! 🔥🔊

anyway there's probably some decent traffic for someone who puts together a decent "did your congressperson vote to release the epstein files?" website after the vote in the House, bonus points if you link to info on any progressive opponent of theirs if they're a No

The thing about Mamdani is that he’s a talented politician but not otherworldly or one in a billion, he’s just a competent guy with popular ideas who ran against an entitled piece of shit and to me it’s a lot more optimistic to imagine 1000 campaigns like his than to view him as a unique phenomenon

dues-paying member of the WFP since November 2024 here!
And this is why I am a proud @workingfamilies.org member, not a Democrat.

There IS a difference, and it is blindingly visible when the working class gets kicked off a loading ramp and into a pile of jagged legislation.

The lesson of history is that tyrants cannot be appeased.

Appeasement only feeds their insatiable hunger for power.

Tyrants prey on people who feel unsafe and vulnerable.

But without mass submission, a tyrant is powerless.

Remember this.

So true!
Here's another bit of conventional wisdom Zohran completely blew away: His speech was at well above a 10th-grade level. It was complex, erudite, punctuated by deep and fluent references. You don't have to condescend to voters with baby talk! Part of re-establishing norms is speaking like an adult.

The fascists are not inevitable. They're not unstoppable. They're not all powerful. They want you to think that, but millions turned out last month to call their bluff. And millions turned out today to claim our power. We will win.

Omg.. c'mon media, when you ask "Why did the president pardon someone who he claims not to know", and they answer, "I haven't seen that." The follow-up is "Well now you know, so what do you have to say"?

This is just ludicrous. "I don't know" is basically "I dont care".

"Speaker, on 5 occasions last week you said 'I haven't seen it' when asked about news events w/big implications for public policy. Do you ever read the news, and do you agree it's problematic for the Speaker to be so woefully uninformed?"
