Hi New Followers 👋

You've made a wise choice. 👍

As well as posting silliness and hope for a better world I also write books (full of silliness and hope for a better world). Start with this free book of shorts written to introduce you to the #steampunk world of Hammersmyth.

mybook.to/hammersmyth2
Book Cover for The Hammersmith Tales (spelt with a y instead of an i). A beige background with shadowy images of cogs and clock faces. In the bottom right corner sits a grey cat wearing brass goggles and a green scarf. H elooks out at us with a lopsided grin. His tail is segmented with metal joints and his eyes have mechanical irises. The book's title is across the top in red and gold. Written in white below it says "A collection of steampunk shorts from the author of", then in yellow/gold "Dexter & Sinister Detecting Agents." Below that is the author's name in white, Keith W Dickinson.

Well, that's me off to Oslo in November. No idea what I'll do there except I've got a ticket for the ballet on the last night. I'll probably just wander about a bit lost, eat some food, and take lots of photos of things the locals find boring but which I think are fascinating coz they're foreign. 😋

Hadn't thought about Helsinki. I went to Stockholm last year and it was lovely. Can recommend that.

That's the plan (maybe). I need a couple of days away. Also thinking about Copenhagen. It'll be one or the other.

As much to fly to Oslo and back as it is to get the train to Carlisle. FFS.

I have been so blessed to have readers leave wonderful reviews on each of my novels this week. To know that there is someone who actually reads and enjoys my writing - well, it means the world to an author. Thank you so much reviewers and readers (you know who you are!). 😇😇😇

My third review for #SFINCS is up on WEIRDE Reviews! I absolutely adored this book and I can't wait to dive into the rest of Whistberry's stories.

Full review⬇️

On the left is the book cover for The Final Voyage of Avery Mothmere by Helen Whistberry features a black cat with white paws reaching out to a ship.
Genre: Fantasy
On the right is a review summary:
The Final Voyage of Avery Mothmere is a fantastical journey through a strange land with even stranger inhabitants. Similar to our protagonist, this story left me with many questions that often went unanswered, but I feel as though that’s the point of the story. The world is very much seen through Avery’s eyes and perceptions, and Whistberry does an excellent job letting us into their mind. The narration style is reminiscent of authors like Jane Austen which gives the story a historical feel. If you love stories with a strong voice, fantastical settings, and a plot that never quite lets you know where it’s going to turn next then I’d highly recommend this novella.

NB: I've done the same with #AttackMars, #GlundaTheVegWitch, and #TheNightMayorOfLondon too.😏

I just can't stop going on about my own stuff. I'd be a nightmare to work with. I spill the beans all over the place! 😂

And if anyone's really *really* curious, as with all my books, Bluesky is littered with a trail of breadcrumbs from the writing process that'll give you some clue to what #InTheValleyOfTheWind contains. 😊

Hopefully 'In The Valley Of The Wind' will come out soon, so those who are curious can compare the two to see if my comparison is correct or not.
keithwdickinson.bsky.social
Also interesting to note that the scene that made me cry is the same type of scene that makes me cry in my own WIP 'In The Valley Of The Wind', a young character struggling to come to terms with the overwhelming reality of someone else's mortality.
keithwdickinson.bsky.social
I was having trouble following each character and strand when they stood alone, but once they crossed over I felt more connected with the story as a whole.
