And just because you may not like masks and condoms doesn't give you the right to spread diseases that kill people. Don't like condoms? Don't have sex. Don't like masks? Stay home, away from other people.
So, you don't like masks. Perhaps you don't like condoms either. Or seatbelts. It doesn't mean they don't work.

Repeating a lie over and over again doesn't make it true.

Masks work. A good mask (N95) worn correctly and consistently will protect you from airborne infections.

Long COVID is now the number one chronic illness in children, and it only took six years. Four, if you don't count 2020-2021, when we actually tried to protect them a little bit.

And no, kids were not always sick all the time. We rarely if ever were, in the 60s. If you believe that, you're a fool.
After abandoning every mitigation and infecting kids repeatedly, our media wants to know: why do so many children have Long COVID?

My latest looks at the newest research, the comforting lies that just won't die, and how we got here:

Long COVID is Now the Number One Chronic Illness in Children
Repeatedly mass infecting kids with COVID is not a public health strategy. It's a fast pass to declining population health

We also allow our kids to get infected with COVID over and over and over again. The adults surrendered to a virus that causes brain damage, immune system damage, and 202 other health issue for years after infection. It's time to admit that we don't give a shit about our children or their futures.
"Every lockdown drill is a confession of failure. Every barricaded classroom is an indictment. Every child taught to hide is proof that the adults in charge have surrendered."
What Are We Doing to Our Children?
We taught kids to read, write, and dream; then trained them to hide, barricade, and bleed quietly while adults chose guns, cowardice, and silence over their future.

Given that the only thing that has ever led to climate progress was the global wave of alarm that rose in the wake of *The Uninhabitable Earth* and the IPCC Special Report of 1.5 C, I think it is irresponsible and counterproductive to downplay how much danger we’re in.

There’s an urgent need for blood in the aftermath of the Brown University shooting

If you can give, please do

If you can’t, please spread the word

Its terrifying to think how bad this shooting might be if they need an urgent call for blood, but the more people donating the more lives we can save
I am a student at Brown in communication with a friend at RIBC.

There is an urgent need for blood donations to support RI. Donations in NY, NJ, MN, NB, DE or NJ can help supply RI.

Spread the word.

Important thread.
So, to those who say "masks don't work", cite the flawed Cochrane report, insist upon an unfeasible RCT, accuse folks of panic, and undermine public health on social and mainstream media during a flu/RSV epidemic...

Besides communicating the importance of vaccination, where available, the government should be explicit about not mixing with others when ill, using effective face-coverings in an appropriate manner, and making use of ventilation, to avoid spreading airborne viruses.

In reality, wearing a mask is a brave as well as a compassionate act, in a culture in which ignorant bullies have stigmatised masking as a sign of vulnerability, & coerced others into complicity with their systematic cruelty towards outsiders & vulnerable people.
Recent discourse has really cemented for me that many objections to mask wearing are rooted in an insecure kind of masculinity. Wearers seen as 'weak' or 'scared'. This idea is as absurd as calling a soldier weak or scared because he or she chooses to wear a Kevlar vest.

With influenza surging in the UK and Ireland, the fact is that the culture war nonsense surrounding masks combined with the lack of airborne mitigations in hospitals (itself a result of the political and social erasure of Covid) will lead to deaths that could have been avoided.

Have we all forgotten about December 2022?

Ambulance response times for category 2 emergencies like heart attacks and strokes hit 92 minutes on average! The target is 18 mins.

Yesterday's data says 32 minutes.

I'm seeing a number of commentators aggrieved about flu reporting in the press, saying the wave is just early, not particularly big, so why is the NHS panicking?

Here's the problem.

They can only say this by ignoring the covid wave we've just had.
