"We won't describe what the president does if it's too gross" is such a giant loophole, you could fly a diarrhea jet through it
The NYTimes and Mike Johnson share the same policy of choosing not to see or comment on insane shit from Trump.
I am out of country for work, but good work protesting, everyone. Will be thanking all 7-10m of you individually when I return.

to this i would add a good amount of self-loathing stemming from a belief that liberal political views are somehow “inauthentic” or an affectation of “elites”
I agree with whoever said a rather under-appreciated dynamic is the extent to which Professional Politics Opinion Havers flat out just find the left interpersonally irritating in a way they do not find the right so, and I think a lot of the talk of a vibe shift was wish-casting their irritants away.
Maybe the reason Mike Johnson looks twelve is because he has avoided ever being aware of anything.
Q: What's your message to the 170 US citizens who have been detained by ICE? About 20 of them are children

MIKE JOHNSON: I don't know what you're talking about with the children. I haven't seen that so I'm not going to comment on it.
Alien: Earth is a show about innocent xenomorphs having a perfectly reasonable reaction to meeting capitalism
I ran out of things to say a few years ago but I am not going to let that stop me
I'm not going to let the "thought police" stop me from having my critics arrested.
Technically, causing a stock crash counts as lowering prices.
Listen, you can't give oxygen to fringe voices like the President and the Cabinet.
I couldn't imagine still having a 20th Century attention span in 2025. Excruciating. Inhuman.
Getting dumber is actually the body's natural defense against living through incredibly stupid times.

It's cool how many news reports I'm seeing about impending federal layoffs and safety net cuts that fail to note that all of this is very obviously illegal.
You can tell the shutdown isn't a real emergency because Ted Cruz is still in the country.
I completely support shutting down the government but boy is it fitting that the first time Schumer and Jeffries have managed to do something was by doing nothing for good.
I don't believe in the Great Man Theory of history but I am increasingly coming around to the Colossal Dickwads Conjecture.
Hegseth: the military needs to be more like a frat that got kicked off campus

Trump: I need you to shoot New York

Stephen Miller: thank you for coming I look forward to firing everyone who didn't cheer
Besides everything else that's horrifying about this:

One reason to bring all the generals into a room to say "you need to shoot Americans" is just to see who frowns -- and then fire them.
Trump: "The ones that are run by radical left Democrats -- what they've done to San Francisco, Chicago, New York, Los Angeles. They're very unsafe places & we're gonna straighten them out one by one. This is gonna be a major part for some people in this room. That's a war too. It's war from within"
Of all the lies this administration has pushed, "Democrats' rhetoric is too powerful" is maybe the most audacious.
