All due respect to their wonderful schools but it is a national disgrace to have the marching bands from Temple or Northern Arizona University (!?) in the Macy's parade. Did you the number for FAMU or whoever??

Tragic. This funded my dissertation research and many of the students in our program.
NEW from me - NSF cancels grant scheme for social science research.

Seems the NSF quietly archived ALL calls for DDRIG grants in the SBE directorate. This is a massive blow for PhD students wanting to do cutting-edge social science research. 🏺🧪

It's hyper-gendered! Like Louise says. Nurses vs tradesmen. And that's a big part of everyone's problem with my workplace and workplaces like it. Because 47% of women 18-34 have a bachelors and 37% of men.
"Democrats buy into that stereotype of because they're college graduates, they must be also white, cosmopolitan, wealthy elites, instead being like, "No. To be part of the working class these days often still requires like some form of college education," says @louiseseamster.bsky.social.

- Collards with ham hock

I think we can safely say that the Leavitt's brother called ICE on his ex, the mother of his child, and I have to say: I have no desire to respect, find common ground or share the country with these monsters.
“After Ferreira was detained, Dos Santos Rodrigues said Michael Leavitt Sr. and his father, Bob Leavitt, reached out to her.”

“‘They just kept saying, ‘Tell her to self-deport,’” she recalled. “Self-deport to where? Brazil is not her home.’” www.bostonglobe.com/2025/11/26/m...

Bruna Ferreira, 33, was brought to the United States as a child in 1998. She is now in removal proceedings in Louisiana.

Fantastic win in Maryland. As the Trump admin attempts to destroy vital research, @uam-umd.bsky.social is fighting back & winning...& they're not done yet. As they celebrate this win, they're pushing for greater transparency, support for faculty & an academic freedom fund.

Faculty, join your union!
We @uam-umd.bsky.social won. Faculty packed town halls, talked to their colleagues and collected hundreds of petition signatures. Now UMD is coughing up $8.75m, during a deficit, to fund faculty whose research is under attack. Not enough, but a helluva thing for a union the state calls illegal.

The primary issue with the thanksgiving meal is not the lineup (though it usually needs more crunch and acid, so I do like a shaved butternut salad, maybe some collards). It's that people are cooking a giant weird piece of meat and a multi course meal with no planning or practice.

Rewatched Stranger Things to get ready for the finale. Steve is the best older kid, and his arc of becoming den mother is the best arc. Max is the best younger kid, she's gonna be a superstar. I find all of the adults, besides maybe Nancy's mom, largely unsympathetic.
