I do not give donations to people making unsolicited requests in my mentions.

I give as much as I can each month to people I know. If I have extra to give away it goes to requests I see in my timeline from people I actually follow.

Quote posting me for donations is an excellent way to get blocked.

Federal Judges have ruled a) that the President does have the authority to release emergency SNAP funds during the shutdown & b) that Trump *Must* do so.

That means if payments don't go out, it's because Trump & the republicans defied the Judiciary to refuse to use their authority to send them out.
yeah it's an interesting question either way. I am super very interested in the archeology of the datasets. But why it extracts what it does is equally interesting

honestly so many of this firm's ads have this look I have to wonder if their stuff is really crammed in the training data

Am I out of line here? the vibe feels really similar to baseline LLM output
Like they stole ebooks to train text models but would uploads of magazines etc be high enough resolution to form the basis of their training data? usually pirated digitizations of print material are pretty grainy and low rez
Yeah as someone else noted it is really prevelent in late early and early 90s advertising. It makes me wonder where they got the materials to scrape to build their models. like would they be scanning stuff themselves to get crisp images at a high resolution? (does resolution matter?)
yeah I know these are genuinely not LLM art, I have the book from 1991 in my hand.

I am just curious if maybe this stuff makes up an outsized portion of the training data

this is the most LLM-looking non-LLM illustration I have come across

It has that unreal glossiness that I see as one of the major hallmarks of LLM imagery, especially that trying to be "art"

Don't give me your wishy-washy 'Happy Halloween'. Say 'Hail Satan' like you mean it.

Once upon a desert sandy
As through winds the trav'ling man he
Spied the face of Ozymandy
Lying, simply lying there
Suddenly there was some writing
Pon the plinth that he was sighting
That the sand and time were blighting
Quoth the statue, "Now despair"
There was an old man you could gaze
At his works in despair in a daze
If you looked upon them
And were mere mortal men
'Ozymandias mighty', it says

Bottom line: This analysis confirms for me that Bluesky is a more reliable platform for seeing the content you want, especially on climate topics. Its lack of algorithm means that engagement here depends on YOU!

What’s it been like for you on these platforms? Does ⬆️ track with your experience?

Modern medicine seeks to remove the patient from the diagnostic process despite the fact that self report is still the largest source of medical data on how a patient is "feeling".

Oh, you mean when a city councillor said they heard that a company, that she wouldn't name, was denied a loan, by a financial institution, which she also wouldn't name, she didn't have all the facts? Wild
I wish I was shocked that anti-Indigenous racism is so bad that absolute horseshit is being spread about the Cowichan decision but alas, I am not shocked in the slightest
