Who robbed the Louvre right answers only
Seriously. I especially miss it every Christmas when I go to buy presents. Merchoid has been filling the gap for me, but no Tauntaun sleeping bag. 😢
My husband has actually watched this movie more time than I have! The story and characters have depth!

(I've seen the BBC miniseries more times, though, just for the record. And I've definitely read the book more.)
Men assume Pride & Prejudice is a Hallmark romance when the plot is driven by the Bennet sisters’ fear of starvation because they will be homeless when their father dies. It’s a book about money, about people, and those who dismiss it as saccharine fluff are cheating themselves.

After a THOROUGHLY enjoyable book launch event for @marthawells.com Queen Demon, since Murderbot was talked about so much I wound up channeling my appreciative feelings into carving an eraser stamp of MB and ART 💛
Parts of it felt very Indiana Jones!
Well-timed brandy sipping made me laugh.

Banned Books Week may be over but the fight for the freedom to read and the first amendment continues. I talked with author/artist Mike Curato (FLAMER) about his experiences as an often-banned creator in Massachusetts and beyond. #massfreedomtoread @massaabb.bsky.social @authorsabb.bsky.social
I literally laughed out loud at some of these. I think it was the funniest story so far.
Love the characterization in "Oh Whistle."
The Colonel is, on one hand, a complete idiot but saves the day (yes, chuck that thing into the sea!)
While the esteemed learned Professor 1) blew the cursed whistle for funsies and 2) wants to improve his golf game.

I highlighted that, too 😂 I wasn't expecting such pithy commentary on academia from ghost stories lol

In honour of spooky month, share a 4 word horror story that only someone in your profession would understand.

"The chancellor approved it"
Audiobook is such a great idea! I didn't even think of that but sounds perfect for these stories!

Today is National Coming Out Day!

It's also Freedom to Read Day, aka the last day of Banned Books Week.

This feels right — because the main reason they try to ban books is to keep people from dreaming they could ever come out.

They Want To Ban Books To Keep Us From Coming Out
Quick housekeeping! I’m doing a flurry of events once again: Tuesday I’ll be in the Koret Auditorium at the SF Public Library talking about banned books for...

Hmmmm tonight could be a good night to fall asleep after reading several M.R. James stories in bed

But maybe not?

But MAYBE

Anyway the important thing is that there is no ash-tree right outside my bedroom window :)
I missed the first one, so I'm definitely in!
🟠 Graphic novels are a wonderful way to get kids engaged in reading (my kids are crazy for them), but just because it's illustrated doesn't mean it's appropriate for all ages.

🟡 I know the author from his cute series of picture books about an elephant named Elliot.
This #bannedbooksweek, I'm reading Flamer by Mike Curato, which was the #10 most challenged book last year. 💙📚
🔵 For those of us in NE #Ohio, it is of particular interest as it is set in Lorain (Morrison's hometown)
