BTW, anyone who wasn't alive or too young in the 90s needs to know this bit of history. During the push for LGBT rights, trans people were often told to wait our turns. That once we got gay rights, we could move on to trans rights, as if they weren't intertwined

i want to find and read more furry proper novels because i have a theory that most are either SNES-rpg core quest fantasy or romances and i both want to find one that is neither because i don't care about either. and part of me wants to do a big review of a bunch of furry books

If you create art with the intent to become famous or popular, it will never be genuine. It has to be for yourself first. Put everything you can into telling the story you want to tell and the rest will follow.
Enjoy what others make too, wholeheartedly. It will feed your heart and mind.

I want to make cool things with good people. Any recognition gleaned from that is incidental.
I may not be able to control much in life…but I know art-ing with other human beings keeps me out of existential despair.

Any time people are like "don't you want to be successful? Don't you want to be famous?" I imagine having a million times more people like that and I'm like no, I super duper don't want to in fact, I just want to make art and make enough to sustain myself

Just a reminder that right now is a fantastic time to take that monthly Disney plus cash and spend it on trans/bipoc/disabled creators and small businesses. Boycotting the bad things is fantastic, but using those funds to then support and uplift those who’ve been marginalized is even better.

It's not lost on me in the midst of this eulogizing and memorializing a monster that my home state, Florida, has made it a crime to commemorate or remember the victims of the Pulse massacre.

I got to chapter 21 and reached a conclusion with this book and me. It’s SNES RPG core and I have no nostalgia for (I was born a decade late for that that) or interest in those games.
