I simultaneously go back and forth between thinking "these brave women" and "Those poor girls." They had to be the adults because actual adults failed them.
Maria Farmer cont'd: "I'm crying for two reasons. I want everyone to know that I am shedding tears of joy for myself, but also tears of sorrow for all the other victims that the FBI failed."

Daily Dems Doing the Work, Making Noise and Fighting Back Day 326

Doomerella seems to have forgotten, but I hope you don’t. Fighting doesn’t only matter when we win. We are in the minority, we are not always going to win, no matter how hard we fight, but sometimes we will, and when we do,

I'm looking forward to 2029 when we remove and destroy every aspect of Trump's name on federal property like US forces taking down everything with Saddam Hussein on it.

That's the bare minimum any Dem should do. Leave no trace of his existence.

Learned today that a dose of Skyrizi without insurance is $20-22K. I assume the drug is effective, but guys, that commercial is on every five minutes. Maybe funnel some of that advertising budget into reducing the medicine's cost. People who need it it will find it without hearing the song.

Hey, please take a deep breath. There is a lot of really bad news today and it seems like that’s all there is and it’s suffocating.

When he’s this angry and doing this much that means we’re doing something right. So just breathe and don’t forget that. I’m sorry I wasn’t here to help you through it.

Think about this. Did you hear trans panic headlines in the 2000s? No.

Conservatives weren’t “worried” about trans people until the day they lost on Marriage Equality.

Once they realized most of us are just fine with gay marriage, they needed a new wedge issue and started attacking trans people.
I’m rewatching Mad About You & theres a joke where Ursula the ditzy waitress mistakes a recurring character for a post-op trans woman and immediately talks about how great she looks now, then deadnames her as part of a running joke at Ursula’s expense. In 1995. The great trans scare is manufactured.

If Trump announces a new and illegal regime change war against Venezuela tonight pay attention to which elected Democrats stay silent and don’t vociferously oppose and condemn him for it - and then make sure those Dems are subjected to primary challenges next year.

The Oregon MAGA activist who has been trying to end the state’s wildly popular and successful vote by mail system thinks elected Republicans hate the idea because…they also use it to cheat on elections? BTW, there is no evidence of systemic voter fraud in Oregon.

This is my cyclical reminder that there's really only one consistently reliable source of info in the public record that isn't owned by right wing billionaires, who really want to put an end to it.

Please give at least the $2.75 minimum they request if you can.

This is fucking grim. Somebody invented a white guy, an "IT professional" named Edward Crabtree, who stopped the Bondi shooting and spread it all over the internet, which was picked up by AI agents and slop aggregation sites.

The real hero is a fruit stand owner named Ahmed el Ahmed.

Quid pro quo - again. For trump everything is transactional.
We now learn that Fifa had a very specific "ask" in exchange for its "Peace Award" to Trump, with loads of gold trinkets, and that was dismissal of a criminal corruption case against senior Fifa officials. And Trump granted it. Another corrupt bargain, barely noticed (and ignored by US media).

Sick in a Hospital Town, Part 3: Poor Grades, Poor Outcomes
Phoebe paid an exorbitant sum to acquire its crosstown rival and became Albany’s only hospital. But as the company’s debt increased, patients suffered.
