The left should be promoting working-class solidarity, not delighting in seeing workers summarily dismissed.

Well I have more followers on this account, but let it be known that @bsky.app and @aaron.bsky.team suspended a wife who lashed out at this current administration after her husband was kidnapped by ICE. I don’t regret a single thing that I said, in fact I STILL mean it.
Guys I need all the help I can get right now

@bitocrosszer.bsky.social my husband was picked up by ICE

the st. paul sandwich pokes its head around the corner
we need a new "popeyes chicken sandwich" for everyone to flip out about. it doesn't need to be made by popeye's but it needs a similar huge cultural moment attached to it. i think a chicken fried steak sandwich could do it but perhaps the next sandwich to capture the zeitgeist is unknowable

iow if your critique of nostalgia is that any attachment to the past is a form of false consciousness, you don't have a critique of nostalgia and you need to sit your ass down and read some Benjamin
there's the phony nostalgia of "everything in my childhood was wonderful," but there's also the redemptive nostalgia of "this good thing I remember from my earlier life has been lost," and if you can't or won't see the difference then I suspect you of being some kind of authoritarian

I see AI slop in anything, I instantly disregard the whole thing. It's like finding a slug in your salad. If you can't write without an LLM, or you can't source art that isn't genAI, you can't be trusted to do anything. Sorry. Absolute deal-breaker.
I don’t know if anyone else notices or cares, but when I see a presentation in which the speaker uses obviously generated-AI images to illustrate their slides, it makes me immediately less confident in whatever other content they’re presenting.

By definition, AI algorithmic engines repackage an aggregated, mathematically averaged version of what has already been thought & said. This means they are best seen as ideology machines: mechanisms built to recirculate the common sense of a social formation back to itself as though it is knowledge
📸 New research just out revealing disturbing problems with AI image captioning. AI models can now analyse both texts and images, and are trained on vast collections of human-created content spanning centuries. Some claims these models could soon help human historians interpret and explain the past.

@govpritzker.illinois.gov I want you to watch this video of me slammed to the ground- why are you allowing this to happen to people you know are on the right side of history. They tied my hands behind my back and when I asked them to be loosened because I was going numb they said, “STFU.”
at one point, i watched a cook county sheriff’s officer (who appears to be in charge) point out a priest in the crowd.

he and a couple officers then went into the crowd , dragged him into the street, and arrested him.

situation is still tense as crowd jostles with police to get into the street.

Gente, é o maior massacre no Brasil desde o Araguaia.
