Absolutely deranged, bouncing wildly from The Washington Capitals to NatSec to YIMBY to Judaism to US politics. I also take requests for song parodies about geopolitics, but do not take requests to stop.

The current Democratic coalition is every single person who has any idea how society works, any interest in maintaining it, or any scraps of empathy for their fellow human beings, and that's about 47% of the country, tops.
People like to remark that the Democratic party spans from Rashida Tlaib to Bill Kristol at this point but the fact is that's a far too small coalition to reliably win nationally, lol.

Homan: "I begged for the last two months on TV for the rhetoric to stop. I said in March -- if the rhetoric doesn't stop, there is gonna be bloodshed. And there has been. I wish I wasn't right. I don't want to see anybody die."

using federal resources to illegally seize the goods of another country and then diverting the proceeds to accounts only the president can control is the kind of thing the framers would’ve seen these men hanged for

this is a straightforward impeachable offense for trump, vance, rubio and every other person down the line who enabled it and the framers would have thought impeachment for it did not go nearly far enough
Marco Rubio: "The oil proceeds are being deposited into an account that ultimately will become a US Treasury blocked account here in the US. We will say 'this is what this money can be spent on.' They will submit to us a budget request -- 'we want to use the money on these things.'"

New in PN: The investigation is the coverup

"At the same time on Tuesday that the White House was speed-dialing journalists about Trump's supposed 'pivot,' it was weaponizing its own investigation to ensure Pretti’s murderer can never be prosecuted."
The investigation is the coverup
Trump's "pivot" on Pretti is just a head fake.

It is literally false that the Jews being hunted by Nazis were citizens, because the first step toward genocide was stripping them of citizenship and making them stateless. As Arendt reminds us, citizenship is a legal category created to facilitate a machinery of exclusion of the out-group.

Reminder of the pattern: when the real trump falters, he is removed from the news and replaced my in headlines by a fake, imaginary trump who is instead doing reasonable and popular things.
Trump is not doing this and the media is lying to you because they want to take him to the dance and kiss

To avoid the possibility Holocaust remembrance might lead to empathy for migrants, Trump's antisemitism envoy claims Anne Frank "was in Amsterdam legally."

In reality, Margot Frank received a summons to go to a labor camp on July 5, 1942. After ignoring this call, they were in Amsterdam illegally.

One aspect of the Era of American Decline is the incompetence of "elite" university admins. In September, Yale removed a freshman admitted on a wholly fraudulent application. Not one word was true; googling would've shown their address was a hotel. Dean of Admissions inexplicably still has his job.

Many copied the Ivy League school’s bets on private equity and other illiquid investments. Now plain old stocks and bonds are outperforming.

To the New York Times and most of the mainstream media, the only world view that exists is the conservative one. Even when things go bad for the right the questions are all about the con response. They never consider that a left of center pov - the one currently winning the debate- is of interest.

They keep talking about "cooperating with immigration enforcement" as if convoys of troops randomly interrogating and detaining people across the city and attacking bystanders with chemical weapons is just a totally normal part of how law enforcement works that we're all used to.

When government agents choose to mask themselves, use 5 year olds as bait, send people to countries where they don’t know the language, separate families and so on, the consequence of that is to be compared (rightly) to the gestapo. When they murder citizens, they prove the point.
Bovino: "When politicians, community leaders, & some journalists engage in that heated rhetoric we keep talking about, when they make the choice to vilify law enforcement calling law enforcement 'Gestapo' or using the term 'kidnapping,' that is a choice & there are actions & consequences."

The key to the far right’s recent ascendence is the realization that if they simply go on traditional or social media and describe things that are completely false but they’d prefer to be true, many people will treat this fictitious reality as, at least, a competing theory that must be dignified.
