What the treat empire cannot acknowledge is that a French fry is best about twenty seconds after it comes out of the frier, so when you put it in a box and drive it across town, you're getting the idea of a French fry. The true delivered fry does not and cannot exist

Trump after meeting a man-sized earthworm. I love to eat dirt now. You can cut me in half and there'll be two of me. I really believe this.

In addition to Starship’s troubled development now lasting longer than the entire Apollo program, we’re also at “Starship has been in development longer than the gap between the end of WW2 and Sputnik”.
A funny thing about this is that Starship was announced in October of 2012, 12 and a half years ago. That is longer than the gap between Kennedy’s speech at Rice (September 1962) and the *last* Apollo flight (December 1972)

extremely funny way that I have just bikesticked myself: somehow managed to crash the control panel on my stereo system, the radio is on, the display lights up, but it won’t respond to any control inputs.

the funniest bit? this isn’t some modern smart device, it’s from the 1980s.

midcentury industry had some truly unparalleled company names. of course the self-consciously futuristic ones like "Tektronix" "Rocketdyne" "Teledyne" but also the nondescript but pleasingly evocative ones: "Fairchild Semiconductor" "Martin Marietta" "AT&T Long Lines" "North American Rockwell"
