who is actively dying
it's pretty wild how institutions are afraid of a guy with late-stage W approval
Trump posts his worst-ever net approval rating in a CNN poll this morning, 37% to 63% (-26) s3.documentcloud.org/documents/26...

I've got a story, ain't got no moral
the sound I hate is inactive seniors
Pickleball is full of annoying traits — the sound being one of them for many communities that live near courts.

Research suggests pickleball noise can actually impact health. Here’s how: https://wapo.st/4hG3sfx

This isn’t even the first time it would happen - you can literally just go back to when Eric Adams first ran for mayor, and when he got into office, to see how the media manufactured a crime wave that helped push his pro-police agenda at the expense of every other city service.

Crazy how much some media has normalized the idea that voters are taking a risk if they elect governors/mayors who will defy Trump. That he’ll threaten their funding, etc.

Try to imagine, say. Greg Abbott being asked if he’s worried that Biden will punish Texas over his lawsuits.

A 2020 study found that Amazon—which shares owner Jeff Bezos with The Washington Post—is one of the largest employers of people on SNAP.
As SNAP funds froze, mayors and governors have pledged to supplement the missing federal assistance, while federal judges ruled Friday that the Trump administration should use contingency funds to keep food aid running despite the government shutdown.
Uncertainty hits after vulnerable Americans woke up to a SNAP freeze
Amid a benefits pause, nonprofit groups plan to work extra hours to get food out to vulnerable residents, and local community members are also stepping up.

the thing that keeps getting me is how Zohran is unflinchingly all-American. to live in a place that so perpetually and gravely fails to live up to its ideals, it's exhilarating to see someone in public life who actually believes in them
We didn’t smash any tables. We didn’t eat a garbage plate. But you better believe the Bills got that W today.

Thanks to Gov. Kathy Hochul for bringing the #BillsMafia energy to Astoria today—and to Murphy’s Bar for having us.

Part of what is going on here isn't just inflicting hunger, it's inflicting humiliation. Human beings should be able to feed themselves and their families with dignity.

The sadism is the point.
Here in Atlanta yesterday, more than 2,000 people waited in their cars—one woman for 14 hours—for a box of food. The giveaway ended early; there wasn't enough to go around.

Multiply this scene by countless others across the country, and you get a sense of how crushing the desperation is right now.

Healthcare but only for my friends
I mean it's our problem that we don't have civilian oversight, but that's downstream from the mayor's problem
when a dem mayor is scared of their police that's their problem, not ours

The Philadelphia Inquirer continues to furnish a model that NYT can only aspire to live up to. The Times today is a pale image of what it once was.

A rather dramatic update: Ynet reports that Israeli police is now searching for former IDF AG, who has been declared missing.
Allow me to summarize:
1. 5 IDF soldiers caught sexually molesting a Palestinian prisoner.
2. IDF files charges.
3. IDF AG faces enormous pressure from government to drop charges. Mob storms base where it happened.
4. IDF AG leaks video documenting the molestation.
5. IDF AG pushed out (continued)

I will not, as discussed before, read another single story that is clutching pearls about people's reproductive choices. But every time I see one, I'll remind you that there is no economic problem that cannot be solved with immigration and/or taxing wealth hoarders.
if our troops are the good guys why do they follow these orders?
Actually, all U.S. forces were harmed in this strike.

It’s probably a bad thing billionaire-backed defense contractors are running Hitler Youth camps, right?

At this point, I don’t even know what to say about the Star Tribune’s headlines. This isn’t even labeled news analysis.
