One of my favorite parts of this episode is one of my favorite moments in all Star Trek, when Picard is like “Wesley I am so disappointed in you for disobeying orders” and Wes straight up tells Picard off and immediately resigns from Starfleet over what’s happening.

Did people really memorize phone numbers before cell phones, or is that just a movie thing?

I was watching some old shows from the 90s and noticed people would just dial numbers from memory - like they'd call their friends or family without looking anything up.
Made me wonder if that was actually normal back then? Did people genuinely have all their important numbers memorized, or did most folks keep a little address book or written list nearby?

If you've never been to Gaza, you won't appreciate what the yellow line means. Basically Israel now holds most of Gaza's small but important agricultural land. Continued Israeli occupation, which I judge the likely outcome, makes Gaza even more unliveable and more dependent on outside goods.

The Israeli army distributed leaflets in several areas with a clear threat not to participate in the prisoner welcome celebrations, or they would face severe punishment, according to the army.

Razan, the daughter of prisoner Taleb Makhamreh from Yatta, south of Hebron, told Middle East Eye that the Israeli army brutally raided the family's home on Saturday evening and warned them not to show any signs of joy or celebration.

She said they targeted the homes of three prisoners in Yatta who were scheduled to be released. She explained that her father would be released to the Gaza Strip without the family knowing if he were to be deported to Egypt afterwards.

What pisses me off about the movie Aladdin is that the genie kept urging Aladdin to tell Jasmine the "truth" that he wasn't a "real" prince.

Because they actively enjoy what they signed up for, and they will right up until their masks are ripped off and they are dragged in front of The Hague, at which point they’ll cry about how they were just following orders. At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter why they joined ICE - they did.
