Maybe it’s because I was there, but I found this list-of-things-that-happened to be pretty boring, and very unfocused. You could read the final 9.5 pages standing in the aisle at the bookstore and get all the most interesting bits, which - even so - aren’t terribly insightful.

The MTA should be free for everyone and subsidized entirely by motorists through tolls, congestion pricing, taxes, etc.

Do we think it would be possible to claim Tiktok is a bigger driver of music discovery than Spotify? Tiktok certainly seems to make more “hits”, whereas Spotify capitalizes on whats already popular. But that is a different process.

That’s my fuckin mayor, dawg. Not just affordability but also dignity. Imagine that.
“When I speak about making our city more affordable, my vision is not limited to the homes that we live in or the child care that we’re making universal — it’s also a vision where we make it possible for working people to afford lives of joy, of art, of rest, of expression.”

Ian's Is Still The Best Site For Tying Your Shoelaces
Ian's Shoelace Site has been teaching people to tie their shoes for more than two decades. His knots are wonderful. But it is vulnerable to the forces tearing the internet apart.

Trump carried Bucks county by 274 votes out of 400k in 2024, this dude ran on cancelling the ICE 287(g) contract, so pretty close to an "abolish ICE" platform.

He won against the incumbent by 11 percentage points, or 25,000 votes. Dem strategists are idiots.
BREAKING: Dan Ceisler, the new sheriff of Pennsylvania's Bucks County, just announced he has terminated his county's 287(g) contract with ICE.

Ceisler defeated GOP sheriff who'd joined the ICE program in November, & ran on quitting it; we reported then:
Voters Ousted This Pennsylvania Sheriff After He Signed Up to Collaborate With ICE - Bolts
A populous, swing county replaced its GOP sheriff on Tuesday after months of controversy over his joining ICE’s 287(g) program. The Democratic winner promises he’ll end the contract.

New @neverpo.st is coming at some point today. It's the State of the Pod this week, and then *next* upload: back to episodes as normal. Well, normal from this point forward, at least. More about that in the state of the pod, though it's basically all good news.
