15 US states and territories have formed a new Public Health Alliance, which will counter the absence of federal leadership by tracking outbreaks, issuing guidance, buying vaccines and more.

Members of the new alliance include CA, CO, CT, DE, GU, HI, IL, MD, MA, NJ, NY, NC, OR, RI, WA.

So a couple people have now hinted at the idea that Black people didn’t have it so bad post-9/11 because Muslims had it bad. This ignores that there were and are a lot of Black Muslims. This also ignores that more than one group of people can be targeted for state violence. It’s never just one group

But make no mistake, today, Oct. 15, 2025 is a dark day for press freedom that raises concerns about a weakening U.S. commitment to transparency in governance, to public accountability at the Pentagon and to free speech for all.

NEW — I dug into the story of ICE abducting a 13-year-old boy in Massachusetts and moving him 500 miles across state lines without notifying his mother, local cop's complicity, and how the federal government's justification for such cruelty is already falling apart:

ICE took a 13-year-old they said had a gun. Local cops say he didn’t.

Now he's detained 500 miles away from his Massachusetts home.

I was alive in the early 2000s & can assure you an increased violent hatred of Muslims did not in anyway correlate to *less* violent hatred towards queer people, Black people, disabled people . . . Like be so for real, this country managed the Chinese Exclusion Act within 20 years of the Civil War.

And yes, he was murdered out of rage, hate, & ignorance that profiled him as an Arab Muslim - that’s who the murder “meant” to get. But that doesn’t change the thousands of Sikh (especially men) & South Asian people, let alone Middle Eastern Christians, Jews, & others who were targeted & harassed.

This is such a facile claim right on its surface when we consider the vicious murder of Balbir Singh Sodhi on September 15th, 2001 as “revenge” for 9/11 despite him not being an Arab Muslim but a Punjabi-American Sikh and immigrant.

It was literally not just Muslims being punished *for* 9/11

Pediatricians are facing an ethical dilemma: drop unvaccinated families to protect other patients or keep them and hope they change their minds. If we’re talking about free will, that goes both ways, doctors have the right and duty to protect their patients. Drop the families.

Just as a reminder. Deployment of this (and similar) toxic gas agents were banned from use in war 100 years ago by the Geneva Protocol! But we are allowing cops to use it on a bunch of peaceful protestors because "dear leader" doesn't like their "tone"

We need to push for a federal ban on the use of tear gas on civilians and in civilian areas. It's unacceptable.

Just think about this, they dropped so much tear gas near the ICE center that a school had to close because it had become toxified by the residue and was unsafe for the kids.
