As news that 2/5 of the “aid” allowed into Gaza is truckloads of body bags & the UN warns 14,000 babies are going to die in the next 48hrs without immediate intervention, I turn once again to social media - where thousands are begging for their lives.

I think this falls in line with a growing push to recognize actionable harms when christian conservatives face things in public life they don’t like generally.

It’s the Hobby Lobbyfication of public life
It feels surreal, and like a new even darker turn has been taken in the anti-intellectual part of rightwing populism

I am not blaming the grad student nor even their professors for giving a zero. I’m just saying to you that in a similar situation, I recommend a C-. And that it sucks to have to grade defensively like this, but it’s what’s happening.

Give them a C-
if this is discrimination, I’m genuinely unsure what you’re supposed to do when a student responds to a prompt with some religious gibberish

It really seems like people are going one of two ways right now, well three.

A small subset of people are carrying on.
Some people are losing their minds.
Some people are going full radical empathy.

So is it just me or are more and more people losing their minds when they're pushed into doing anything related to showing empathy or helping people?

435 pounds/576 dollars/496 euros to get my goal.
My dearest friend set up the weekly and monthly donation options so that we can stay alive after a tent was destroyed just 100 meters away from us last night. The sand covered our faces while we were still alive.

I’m deeply depressed and can’t keep begging one by one for help anymore.

It’s huge! Romance is one of the highest-selling genres, if not THE highest-selling. The Ripped Bodice has locations in LA & NYC, Cambridge, MA has Lovestruck Books, too.
which: how big is the audience for romance novels in the midst of an otherwise collapsing book market if it’s enough to sustain a store all on its own?

Here’s the TPUSA version of events at OU.

Not surprisingly, they lie about what happened — she wasn’t flunked for quoting the Bible; she never even quoted it — and accuse the instructor, whom they name, as being “mentally ill”

Israel was factually bombing Gaza on Oct 7th. "They started protesting before Israel responded" is almost statistically impossible.

To this day I still see people say Israel did not start bombing Gaza until the next week, which is wrong, they started bombing within 5 hours of the initial incursions by Hamas, the PFLP and other groups on the 7th. What they're doing is either 1) confusing airstrikes and land invasion, or 2) lying.
Since the new opinion has become "calling for a ceasefire in october shows bad judgment, and probably bias" maybe people need to be reminded of what exactly was happening in gaza starting on 10/8.
