i knew so many, admittedly often very funny, libertarian dudes circa 2010, who were like "i hate both parties, but i feel like the left is going to be the one who takes away constitutional rights so i'm focused on them." and, uh, that bet didn't work out super great, huh

The field has some impressive contenders, but I think RFK has has a very real shot at winning Most Evil Government Official of All time. The prize is a dead whale, so he's gunning for it.

Mountain Head is a pretty bleak movie. But a lot of people overlook how hopeful it is about the future: in it, Peter Thiel has terminal cancer. And I just think thats really nice.

We need to build some real social stigma around being afraid of cities. You don't have to like them or live there, but a politics built this strongly around watching TV and going "ewww" is embarrassing, and people should be embarrassed by it. It's like "fear of werewolves" being your top issue.

And then remember this. The Imperial need for control is so desperate because it is so unnatural. Tyranny requires constant effort. It breaks, it leaks. Authority is brittle. Oppression is the mask of fear.
