Having loved Stoppard’s plays, it was such a delight to me to discover he wrote my favourite Indiana Jones films. Of course I loved it, he wrote it! I watched that film long before I knew him, so becoming acquainted with his works was like coming home.
RIP Tom Stoppard.

Hardly his most important work, but I remember having my mind blown by learning he had rewritten most of the dialogue on INDIANA JONES AND THE LAST CRUSADE, one of the funniest movies ever made

If you actually have to do work, AI often just makes more work because you have to spend so much time making sure it didn't lie to you again.
A study by Dayforce shows 87% of executives use AI for work, compared to 57% of managers and just 27% of employees.

I think this explains the massive disconnect we see in how CEOs talk about AI versus everyone else. It also raises the question of how useful it truly is for frontline work?
Execs are embracing AI more than their employees are, new research suggests
Research from HR software company Dayforce suggests that executives are leaning into AI far more than their employees.

it’s amazing how corbyn and sultana have separately squandered so much good will towards them. I was, and still sort of am, broadly more sympathetic to sultana, but she’s fucked it too, that’s pretty clear.

RIP to Tom Stoppard, greatest playwright of our time

Oh god, just heard Tom Stoppard passed away. So weird I mentioned one of his plays just earlier today. He's one of my favourite playwrights. I've had the immense pleasure and honour to have been in productions of two of them (R&G, and Arcadia). What a loss. I'm devastated.
Tom Stoppard covered this well in Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, when he recounts the story of a live hanging on stage. A character is meant to be hanged so they use an actual condemned man and actually kill him. But the audience don't believe it because they think, "that didn't look real."

RIP Tom Stoppard who did so much incredible work, not least writing every single line of dialogue in Indiana Jones & The Last Crusade.

The problem with fetishizing the rule of law is that people have to break the law to resist fascism, state violence, and oppression. This has always been true, and is very much the case RIGHT NOW.

There's lots of debates about "authenticity" in theatre but my feeling is that trying to get complete authenticity on stage is ridiculous (particularly when it leads to unsafe situations like this), because theatre is, by its very nature, inauthentic and not real
incredible quote lol
