“60 Minutes paid me a lot of money”

In an edited-out part of the Trump interview Trump brags about extorting CBS for millions for… editing out a part of Kamala’s interview.

(He also makes it clear new CBS chief Bari Weiss is in his pocket) #RIPCBS

The fact that a sitting president is willing to sacrifice SNAP benefits, something that millions of people, should tell you who he is there to serve. He does not care that it will starve children. He does not care that people will die, but above all, he does not care about the rule of law.
Trump is staring down a noon deadline on Monday to update a federal judge who ruled that they must disburse food assistance funds.

This comes as tens of millions of Americans continue to go without SNAP benefits due to the shutdown, which is just days away from becoming the longest in U.S. history.

The New York Times editorial board says Trump is "often in open defiance of the law." Yet the newsroom keeps using weasel wording like "testing the limits" and "stretching the boundaries." Either the NYT edit board is factually wrong or the NYT newsroom is afraid of the truth. You know what I think.
The Paper of Record is so far beyond sanewashing. It is literally White House propaganda at this point. WTAF @nytpitchbot.bsky.social has become reality.
The New York Times likes to say Trump "has stretched the limits of his powers” and “tests the boundaries of the presidency.” But this is not a test or a stretching exercise. He’s a lawless politician building a dictatorship. Say it. 🧵 1/3
UGH I can’t watch either of them, but I am guessing Tapper didn’t ask him about the $40B to Argentina to help prop up Bessent’s buddies and their hedge funds?
THIS! Leaving gerrymandering and voter suppression out of the equation skews everything. When it is mathematically impossible for Democrats to win a seat in a purple state, then arguments over “moving too far left” do not make any sense.
That tracks, the bug-eyes fucker.

Holy shit. Friends, here is a panel on the question "why don't Americans trust the media?'

I scrolled ... scrolled ... increasingly amazed ... scrolled ...

Nope. No one so much as *mentions* the 6-decade, billionaire-funded campaign by the right to destroy trust in media! Not even in passing!

The reality of the Democratic Party -- what its elected officials actually do with the power they are given -- is almost entirely immaterial to US political discourse. Happens off-stage, basically.

Discourse is dominated by a kind of collective hallucination, a bogieman invented by its opponents.
This right here, this exact sentence, is THE problem in American political journalism.

The IRA *was* cheap energy and good jobs! That was the whole bill! Democrats did precisely what political pundits are telling them to do and the pundits just ignore it.
so @matteowong.bsky.social & I wrote on data centers: arguably the most important buildings in the world & are, in a way, holding the economy hostage. Byzantine financial instruments, private equity, depreciating tech, hype, $trillion valuations. it’s all there. an ai crash prob starts here.

If Prince Andrew used Epstein’s child sex trafficking ring, he should go to jail.

If Bill Clinton used Epstein’s child sex trafficking ring, he should go to jail.

If Donald Trump used Epstein’s child sex trafficking ring, he should go to jail.

That wasn’t so difficult, was it?

Amazon is helping fund a $300 million build of a ballroom for the White House.

Independent bookstores are donating to food banks and organizations that help with food insecurity.

They are not the same.

Boy, North Carolina Republicans sure don't want the attached story to circulate. I sure hope that this stupid threat from their spokesperson doesn't boomerang on them and have a lot more people read and share the story, which once again, is conveniently attached below. That would be a shame.
WTAF is it with these Bible-thumping, white Christian nationalists? I hate them so much; they represent *everything* that is wrong with mixing religion and politics. What an utter POS.

Great work @dougbockclark.bsky.social and @propublica.org

Here is your infuriating must read of the day.
Billionaires should be illegal. I wonder how they sleep at night, knowing their employees are suffering. #taxtherich
Amazon just announced 14,000 layoffs. Its CEO made over $40M last year.

UPS announced 48,000 layoffs. Its CEO made over $24M last year.

Intel announced 20,000 layoffs. Its new CEO's pay package is valued at nearly $69M.

This is what I mean when I say the system is rigged.

Remember that ceasefire everyone praised Trump for securing between Israel & Gaza?

Netanyahu just massacred 104 Palestinian civilians, including 46 children, on the mere accusation that Hamas handed over the 'wrong' corpse

HE MASSACRED 46 CHILDREN & I doubt you've heard one media outlet mention it

Never in the history of the US has any president openly and repeatedly called for the investigation, arrest & prosecution of his political opponents. While many continue to shrug these things off and normalize them, I will never stop pointing out that this is what autocrats do.
