I was reading some of it, and yeah, that part was quite neat. Fantasy mobility devices are usually better when you let the wheelchair users write them, because we're constantly thinking about that stuff.

Nevermind, I care about diligence, and I heard that E-Collar Technologies makes a version of the Educator that's vibro-only, and I can confirm that. What Kaya is wearing is clearly an Educator, but looking at just the collar leaves the model unclear. www.educatorcollars.com/pg-300-pager...

...why I hate this fucking controversy so much. The broad clamor is not about Kaya's wellbeing or advancing knowledge that shock collars do harm, it's about attacking Hasan individually with the least amount of charitability possible and people aren't willing to change opinions based on evidence.

...and it is the Educator PG-300, that would fully eliminate any leeriness I feel towards his truthfulness. Also, I should have dug into E-Collar Technologies deeper before, I didn't dig enough to see that they had a pager-only model, that is entirely an oversight on my part. This is, again...

As a reminder, no matter WHAT version of the Educator Kaya wears, I still DO NOT believe Hasan shocked her, this is now purely a matter of transparency/accuracy and also broader education. I'm still not happy about him justifying shock collars, but if he has been fully honest about the model...

This might hold true for RPGs where you pick your own player character or generic NPCs, but there's a general dearth of chubby girls in opportunities where you're not doing that.

...you tend to get really GOOD representation for example, Sun Spider in both the comics and the Spider-Verse film, her hyper-mobility, crutches and wheelchair are incorporated into her character in a believable way, I just get frustrated when it's sloppy and ignorant.

Oh, that wasn't meant to be commentary on the combat wheelchair, I think the combat wheelchair ruleset is neat. I love the artistic interpretations I've seen of it, too, a lot of it being based on disabled athletes who have strong upper body strength that lets them navigate terrain...

Yeah, it's the balance between escapism or something more textured. What makes the prosthesis run, and are there drawbacks? Maybe the high end prosthetics that allow for full sensitivity come with side effects or are cost-prohibitive and/or unreliable. You could have a Barbarian missing a hand...
