Ilan Wurman has yet to correct an admitted error in his amicus brief, and has the gall to call other scholars unserious when they alert him to research that he clearly knows nothing about. He doesn’t think it’s unserious, he’s pretending he does because all he can do is pretend at this point.
He thinks this is a deeply unserious question.

And I’ll add archival work does not mean physical archives. It does mean digging into the particulars of how the law was actually formed, enforced, and discussed.

The research comes first, but that gets in the way of writing amicus briefs.

LLMs are reconfirming — in a novel way — why it is that mediocre men are consistently able to fail upward just by acting utterly and completely confident in themselves even when they are completely wrong.
least surprising thing ever: llms are NOT ANALYTICS TOOLS.

“it explained everything so confidently, nobody questioned it”

literally “so confident” is a red flag.

There were fliers, online messaging on social media and the website, loop announcements at the CTC and on buses, public hearings, information in the newspaper and on the evening news, and transit ambassadors on every route.

welcome to the wonderful world of vibe coding. where the ai "writes" your software with so many bugs it would take more man hours to fix them all. So companies don't. Can't be bothered to hire back all those mass layoffs.

No surprise but the unprofessionalism of ODNI continues. Despite repeated requests by @wbaidlaw.bsky.social for DNI Gabbard to follow lawful whistleblower process, we did not receive guidance on how to proceed to Congress.

So now we create our own path.
Whether this is true or not, we do not know BUT we do know that ODNI continues to block our client's lawful right to brief Congress abt content of whistleblower complaint & surrounding process.

That matters.

NEW — I spoke with Rep. Delia Ramirez (@ramirez.house.gov) about her calling DHS leaders "inheritors of the Klan hood and the slave patrol," the prospect of one day seeing them behind bars, and what it's like to see the public [finally] embrace her long-held dream to abolish ICE.

Our conversation:

If the goal is really “never again,” you have to actually dismantle any system that can be transformed into a lawless, roving, interior-focused police force within a matter of weeks or months, which is all the time it took in the spring of ‘25 to launch the first surge.

“DHS is shutting down because it refuses to obey the law” is excellent framing
DHS is shutting down because it refuses to obey the law. They are tear-gassing schools, killing American citizens, and disappearing legal immigrants. Democrats shouldn’t fund an out of control ICE.
