Love the charts. I wish people were more curious about why people's lived reality doesn't match up with the charts, because nothing is more frustrating to poor people than feeling like they're being gaslit by exasperated Democrats
Everyone has utterly lost the plot about the actual material state of the economy. It's as if the last 4 years did not happen. Denial of the shape of the earth. There's really no other conclusion other than that nothing actually matters anymore. We're through the looking glass into pure vibes.
Just to Start, since this is a member of my discipline either obfuscating the truth or forgetting it: The cost of shelter has risen much faster than the cost of the items used to measure inflation (usually a 'basket of goods')

to add to the Jake Paul schadenfreude, Andrew Tate also lost a fight to some reality TV influencer. most analysis of the fight I've read described his opponent as deeply untalented but Andrew lost anyway. Tate's endurance was awful and he was gassed after the first round.

Lrps: a fundamental of why 'just the numbers' doesn't work as a framework for anything but the coldest, most analytical treatment of people. That seeps into everything else even if they pretend it doesn't. You have to consider human factors, especially since human-relevant stats are social science.

I love how demonstrably being out in public counts as isolation from society for these ghouls. I'd still be wearing one if it weren't crucial for me to limit exposure - but it is and I need to so double fuck them because it's what lets me leave the house, ever.
One of the reasons why I go so hard on science misinformation/disinformation, is that as a working scientist it is frustrating to see your research misreported to push an agenda.
