With his new comedy show and debut novel, is it time to let Louis C.K. force women to watch him masturbate again?
When a cancelled performer reënters the culture, we expect them to offer us a great work, channelling their newfound clarity into the finest art they’ve ever made. With his new comedy show and début novel, has Louis C.K. met the bar?

Louis C.K.’s Next Chapter
In a new standup special, and a début novel, the comedian navigates murky, post-#MeToo terrain: not quite exiled, not quite welcomed back.

A quibble: if I'm reading this right, Target didn't put AI inside their own app; they inserted themselves inside of ChatGPT so people using that can shop & slop

Policing is defunding Chicago.
Chicago spent more than $212 million on overtime for members of the Chicago Police Department in the first 10 months of 2025 — 6% more than the amount Mayor Brandon Johnson plans to set aside for police overtime in all of 2026, records show. https://to.wttw.com/49QGPU6

The thing I hate most about this is that even if they stabilize the marketplace, this price is never going down. Ever.
It's 38%! And the deductible is higher! Wheeeeeeeeeee.
Really excited that tomorrow I get to find out what % increase my health insurance for next year will be, and at this point I will breathe a sigh of relief if it’s under 20%.

Debunking myths about Mother Rosa Parks, an icon of the Civil Rights Movement and (as we knew her growing up) a great Detroiter. 💐
Today is the 70th anniversary of Rosa Parks' arrest. Six myths: 1) She wasn't old or tired. 42 years old that day, she had a "life history of being rebellious" & had spent two decades helping to turn the Montgomery NAACP into a more activist branch alongside ED Nixon and Johnnie Carr.

Seventy years ago today Rosa Parks was arrested for sitting on a bus. She wasn't old, she wasn't passive, she was an engaged activist. As John Lewis would later say, she got in good trouble. She is an icon of progressive values and equality. Let her serve as a reminder for all of us today.

For the first time a U.S. county is making their guaranteed income program permanent.

The Cook County Board of Commissioners has unanimously approved $7.5 million to continue its guaranteed income program.

Each month over 3,000 households will get an unconditional $500.
