Most of the world can't just vote to no longer be stuck in an economic system where their labour and resources aren't systematically undervalued compared to labour and resources in the imperial core. Most of the world can't even safely *fight* their way out of this system, lest they be invaded.

"authoritarianism" is not a real thing. it's a term invented solely for liberals to pump whatever they don't like into (primarily communism). it's vague and amorphous and has no real content.

It is, objectively, very funny that the massively overbudget "VICTIMS OF COMMUNISM" memorial in Ottawa can't go forward with names to memorialize because the people in charge keep putting actual literal Nazis on the list.

We can have a society where those who are currently powerful are pleading to us to not finish revoking and democratising their power, and a society where we can just tell them "no", if we set our sights higher than getting better politicians elected.

We don't have to continue to have a system where unaccountable leadership structures beholden to wealthy donors choose the politicians who are allowed to win elections. One where we're given the "choice" between people who will relentlessly make the lives of everyone but the most powerful worse.
