So much about politics can be summed up by the answers to two questions:

Who is allowed to be a bully?

And who is allowed to defend themselves?

When you’ve lost Ed Whelan – a man of such principle that, when he was working to get Kavanaugh confirmed, he tweeted a ridiculous conspiracy theory involving Zillow floor plans, in an attempt to frame someone else and give GOP senators an excuse to vote yes
Even Ed Whelan of the Ethics and Public Policy Center—where SCOTUS “whisperer” Leonard Leo sits on the board—says that Judge Currie’s dismissals of the criminal cases against Comey and Letitia James are legally sound. 1/

They deleted the line in which I describe Donald Trump as “the most openly corrupt president in American history.” /1

After one of the worst acts of racial terror in our history, *we erased it.*

We didn't teach it.

We didn't take anyone to trial.

Police records disappeared.

So did newspaper archives.

The silence continued until 2020, when people, you could say, woke up.

Rep. Lauren Underwood is there and reporting on what they showed her, and she describes how horrible it is in the detention center, and they didn't even show it to her with detainees in the holding cells. Thank you for telling us this tonight, and for going there to see it for yourself, too!! 💙
Today, after months of requests, I toured the Broadview ICE Processing Facility. I want to share what I saw.

The facility has no food vendor, no medical care, and detainees have to use toilets in the middle of shared cells. These are in no way suitable conditions to be holding anyone — period.

I’m really tired of ppl talking about “social” & “economic” issues as if they’re distinct categories.

Almost every “social” issue you can think of has a related economic consequence, & yet the narrative of distinction persists to keep vulnerable groups marginalized.

We should stop accepting it.
The article is called "Out With Woke". He specifically calls for sacrificing all marginalized communities upon the altar of the revered white male. Is that how desperate liberals have gotten for any sort of hollow "win"?

The New York Times, where the popular mayor-elect of their city is a fringe figure, but the QAnon podcaster who asked him a racist question comes out as a "winner"

This newspaper hates its readers as much as Republicans hate their voters. And if you're still supporting either, you deserve it.
What a strange framing and characterization. How does one describe his blatantly dishonest, racist question about taxes as “press[ing] the Mayor-elect on his policy proposals”? In what way does this lying troll emerge as a “winner“?

Neither Trump, nor half of his cabinet have “ancestors” who were in North America before the revolution. I’d guess that less than half of current US citizens do. “Your ancestors” is doing a lot of implicitly white Christian nationalist work here.

Since RFK Jr is “challenging science orthodoxy”, here are a few more suggestions for the NYT:
Trump is a “governance disruptor”
Linda McMahon is an “education renegade”
Greg Bovino is a “perjury maverick”
Authoritarianism is “neo-democracy”
The New York Times can “go fuck itself”
Breaking News: Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said he personally instructed the CDC to abandon its position that vaccines do not cause autism. The move underscores his determination to challenge scientific orthodoxy — in this case, that vaccines save lives — and bend the health department to his will.
