Here’s my Spotify Wrapped 🎵✨

I'd never noticed anything wrong with Spotify's audio quality, but switching to Qobuz was like getting glasses as a child and finding out the world isn't supposed to be blurry

Did anyone in Obama's administration get prosecuted for bombing weddings and following up on survivors and first responders? I'd love to be wrong, but Hegseth will never face charges.

All the posts about *that* chat bot. Tell me that software engineers need an ethics code and external regulation if they want to be regarded as a profession.

Dress it up in progressive language but you're cheating yourself by not doing the work. This is the worst thing about AI: millions of students refusing to learn, taking zero interest in the world around them, empty in mind and heart. Your punishment is the person you will become.

Imagine if the tech industry had environmental standards on notifications, on design choices, on consumer data, on the ways in which they interact with us. It’s illegal for companies to dump toxic chemicals in our drinking water, why can’t the tech industry have standards too?

This is incredibly dumb ofc, but this "we gotta pump the bags of voters, damn the consequences" mentality is exactly why houses now cost a million bucks, and so many kids have given up on making rational financial decisions in the first place
lol. You keep pushing responsibility to everywhere but you. If you are 25 and your networth is $250 and tied up in crypto and every time gary said something you lost money and every time trump did you made money, who you voting for ?

Lottery tickets expire. Crypto doesn’t.

Dear Mr. Clegg

I have started a business, selling the contents of your house

I knew when I launched I did not have legal access your house

Without this access my company will not be profitable

Others have told me I have a flawed business model, but I disagree

Please advise how I should proceed

Interesting that KNEECAP is showing up in my Spotify generated playlists for the first time ever. I wonder why they might be trending currently.

Australia's response should be more stringent domestic content requirements and increased Screen Australia funding via levying streaming subscriptions. If Americans want to make Hollywood slop themselves, let them. Time for Australians to make film and TV for Australians.

President Donald Trump extended his trade war to the cinema.

Trump, in an evening post on his social media platform Truth Social, said he has instructed the Commerce Department and US Trade Representative to place a 100% tariff on films that are produced outside the US and imported into America.

Authoritarians benefit from a version of Pascal's Wager where people think that if they collaborate, they'll be helped—but if liberalism reconstitutes, they won't be punished.

Trump’s Wager and the Avengers Initiative
People and institutions are collaborating with Trump because they believe that a future Democratic president won’t punish them. That should change.

Pete Buttigieg enabled Elon Musk to wantonly break the law more than any other agency head, and it's not even close. Had he done his job and not interceded multiple times explicitly on Musk's behalf from 2021-23, Musk would be bankrupt.

Thanks Pete ☺️
I truly believe this is our only real chance. He has remained steadfast, brilliant, and forward-thinking.

No mention yet of the major cause of rising house prices: increased demand from investors.

Our research shows restricting negative gearing to newly built housing and scrapping the capital gains tax discount would reduce speculation and allow more first home buyers to get into their own home. #qanda

Really an ideal election campaign for landlords. Both parties have promised to further pump their tax-discounted bags. Literally can't lose.

Maoism but from the right continues to be a decentish framework
I'm sorry, but isn't this just the Cultural Revolution 2.0? Why on earth would fired aid workers and NIH medical researchers go to work on assembly lines for worse salaries in jobs they don't know how to do? Why are they getting their economic policy from Mao?

Taking your high school diploma to the local widget factory and leaving thirty years later with a gold watch and a pension was a freakish aberration of history and it's never coming back. But there are voters who think it's not only normal, but their birthright.
When (some) people talk about bringing back manufacturing, they mean "bring back steel & auto jobs that someone can take right out of high school, and live a middle class life"
The worst part of this is that even if manufacturing jobs came back because of this (they won’t)
and even if Americans retooled for those jobs (they won’t) those jobs sucked! It’s like demanding to return to being a farming society. People fled that life the instant they could, in the millions!
