I will note this isn’t to say there isn’t cooperation between these groups, but it’s properly seen as coalitional alignment on issues of being racist much the same as factions in the Democratic tent will come into alignment at times while being distinct and often opposed
onbluskysku.bsky.social
Granting that it’s fictional, the Daniel Radcliffe movie “Imperium” actually sort of alludes to this schism in a way that’s a good entry point for observing this dynamic.
onbluskysku.bsky.social
Yeah there are more than a few. Many during the 2nd world war did so because they were American nationalists and Hitler went to war with the US.

It doesn’t make them not white supremacist it just does indicate that these are relevant distinctions for understanding the shift in right wing spaces.
onbluskysku.bsky.social
This is also apparent in the subcultures of far right spaces, where Nazis and skinheads famously do not get along with factions like the Klan and Christian nationalist types. That was part of what Richard Spencer’s “Unite the Right” effort was trying to change before it fell apart

Individual donors is fine, not sure how else they’re supposed to get any money to run a primary campaign unless they’re rich
onbluskysku.bsky.social
Because they said they love Adolf Hitler, leader of the Nazi Party and Fuhrer of the 3rd Reich

Hogans Heroes did it better
onbluskysku.bsky.social
I mean I agree and that’s fine but the worthwhile criticism here is that the DSCC is not waiting until after the primary
onbluskysku.bsky.social
And yes, the guys praising Adolf Hitler are distinct from your typical white supremacist. That is its own thing
onbluskysku.bsky.social
White supremacy isn’t really naziism and the Nazis didn’t especially care about whiteness. These are distinct theories of racial hierarchy with distinct methods and backgrounds. It would be like saying Robert E. Lee was a Nazi, or George Wallace. They were white supremacists, not Nazis.
onbluskysku.bsky.social
Yeah democratic moderates will criticize Zohran Mamdani as too radical isn’t exactly surprising
onbluskysku.bsky.social
I don’t know how you manage to leave your house in the morning if you think Democratic politicians are scheming for an opportunity to murder Zohran Mamdani. It’s just a facially absurd thing to say. No one ought to need to explain to you why that is absurd
onbluskysku.bsky.social
I trust that Democratic politicians will not kill Zohran Mamdani “if a chance comes up” yes. And I trust this because “a chance comes up” literally dozens of times every day. If you were correct he would not be the Democratic mayoral nominee. He would be dead. He is not dead.

Karl Donuts over here is having a bad day
onbluskysku.bsky.social
There really isn’t a lot of nuance to “they will kill him if a chance comes up” in a city where “a chance comes up” every time he walks by an apartment building. You’re just being delusional. Like, not as a personal insult. That is just what a delusion is. That’s a delusional thing to say.
onbluskysku.bsky.social
So who are the “they” that will try to assassinate him if they can? In a place where it would be ridiculously easy to do so if they wanted to? Democrats are trying to? What are their names?

I’ve seen a lot of woodwinding that could be described as aggressive, lemme tell you they will come back more powerful than you could imagine

that’s right, oboe

Korol is a US citizen. Her family hasn’t heard from her since she was taken, public charges haven’t been released—what crime did she even commit? 2nd-Degree Woodwinding?—and there has been no explanation for her “renditioning” across state lines.

We’ve moved into a new phase of Trump lawlessness.

A musician, Oriana Korol, was peacefully playing clarinet with her protest band outside ICE facilities in Portland, OR.

When the band started playing “Ghostbusters,” ICE thugs suddenly poured outside, slammed her into the mud, arrested her and took her to a jail 9 miles away in Vancouver, WA.
onbluskysku.bsky.social
Also idk what you mean “if a chance comes up” but Mamdani lives in a city filled with tall buildings the thing that has stopped him from being assassinated is that no one is willing to do it. If they were it would not be difficult. Political assassinations are not stopped by lack of ability.
onbluskysku.bsky.social
The guy won a Democratic primary voted in entirely by Democratic voters what are you talking about

Interesting Q: do you know if a school newspaper is a school publication or a student publication? Seems like it turns on that

I know the temptation is to just scroll past this with a “not surprised” reaction, but you should read this if you have the emotional bandwidth to encounter horrifying slurs and violent sentiments, because there’s an important takeaway: extremism is often performed to reinforce an in-group’s bond.

They are, but only if they're being tried internationally. If they're being tried under the US law that says we follow international law, well then that's a US law. So pardons are available for it.

When I was in college my lab partner in a class was a Republican and thought it would be funny to change my laptop home screen background to the NAMBLA logo. This is just what they're like.
