It’s tricky business getting a tattoo that could come back to haunt you, so I would recommend going with William Morris’ Walthamstow pattern in indigo and gold

Its vertical border, sketched initially in graphite, contains stylised honeysuckles with mirroring indicative of the typical 19th-century style. Honeysuckles, daisies, and acanthus leaves all swirl together in a striking repeat, edged by a checkboard border. That's tricky to see at the human scale, obvious on the universal scale, and has such implications at the micro scale that even "cogito ergo sum" isn't sufficient proof you're real.

I had a long Confederate apologist phase as a kid and that already puts you real close to Nazi apologia but when people I knew started flashing swastikas and SS bolts my first thought was “Oh fuck, what’s wrong with me?” and I got the hell out of there.

I've spent a lot of times the past few years scolding those people on other sites, but honestly everyone is scolding everyone for everything and it just hurts everyone.

I sometimes wonder about attending Lutheran services because being a modern evangelical/Baptist-lite/"non"-denominational we don't really have any solemn liturgy or ceremony besides Baptism, and it's nice to be reminded that I'm not just in a spiritual book club, but subscribing to an ancient creed
